SURGERY! Oh and I'm married...not sure if I mentioned that before!!

So maybe I'll start posting in here...I'm not even sure there's anyone still on here. So yeah I'll give you a brief update on my surgery and then toss some photos up for old times sake. If you don't like it..then 1. you're awesome for being around 2. delete me or scroll down. I don't remember how to do cuts...sorry!!

So I joined the ARMY in August of 08. Went to basic training at Ft. Jackson in SC. I shot an M16 for the first time, turns out I'm AMAZING with it!! My nickname throughout the whole company was "Sniper", I really LOVE shooting!!! I had a blast up until the day of my last APFT. That's a PT test consisting of a 2mile run, push ups, and sit ups. I rocked my run, almost maxed it out, did well on my push ups and did OK on my sit ups. As I was marching back from chow afterwards my hip went out. Crazy sudden pain!

Fast forward to November of 08. I arrive to Ft. Sam Houston, TX to begin my training as a combat medic. Training went well, I obtained my EMT-B back in January of 09 but my hip was progressively getting worse. I was in pain 24/7, it hurt to stand/sit/lay down/run/walk/do anything!! After months of trying to figure out what was going on with my hip they discovered I had Femoral Acetabular Impingement (FAI) in both hips but my right hip was significantly worse than the left. With that I started to develop a cyst in my femoral neck and eventually tore my labrum in my right hip as well. The ARMY decided they wanted to medically retire me, which means I would still get paid a portion of what I'm making now, I'd keep my military benefits (ID card, commissary benefits, etc) and also keep my health-care. Being the stubborn girl that I am, I politely told them to shove it and I wanted to stay in service. I didn't join to just get separated a year later. After months of fighting I went to the Air Force hospital. Luckily they agreed to do my surgery.

So fast forward to November 9th, the day of my surgery, I arrive and I'm told that this will be a 1.5-2.5hr long surgery...which is pretty lengthy for a surgery!! I go in around 1130 and wake up at 1700 (5pm)!!!! They spent 4 hours working on me!! They had to surgically dislocate my hip, cut part of my pelvis off, shave down my femoral bone, remove the cyst from my femoral neck, and suture up a very large tear in my labrum. So now I'm stuck in bed for the next 5 weeks and I'm going to fight to recover as quickly as possible and try to get a "fit for duty" so I can continue training to kick some butt!! I may have to give up my MOS as a combat medic, but I'll be okay with that as long as I can stay in the medical field. So yeah...that's my current story! Now for pics...can't remember when I posted last...so sorry if some are repeats!

K BYE NIGHT!!! Sorry I'm so bored...being stuck in bed 24/7 gets really old fast...especially when you're used to being up and moving ALL THE TIME!

For Stace Face-

Closest thing I have to marriage pics that I can find:

This is him and I after graduating basic training...I look like a weird looking Asian...
