Okay, read Nanako's comment for my tl;dr on Adachi himself. And we've talked in PM about stuff already. SOUJI IS ... difficult. The civility is strange to Adachi, to say the least. He's more expecting to be on the defensive when it comes to the P4 kids (like with Kanji and Yousuke), so having Souji treat him somewhat civilly is like throwing him a curveball. He isn't sure how to deal with it! He gets that the others hate him and is pretty much like "whatever" about that. Having Souji not be as outwardly ">F" at him is, uh, different. It makes him suspicious and leery, and he does bitch a lot because of that.

With that said, I do feel like he meant it when he said "I'm playing by this world's rules" and "I hope this helps you," so. I think that on ... some level, Adachi has this sort of grudging respect for Souji. He was the leader of that group, he found out the truth, they got him, and then they showed him the truth. It's basically because of Souji (and Dojima) that Adachi has at least, you know, accepted ( ... )

WHAT'S REALLY INTERESTING ABOUT THIS IS THAT ADACHI COULD HAVE BEEN THE ONE WHO GOT THE WILD CARD. Okay what a way to open this but really-Souji got his wild card because of he made a contract with Teddie. Since they're both technically the Fool Arcana (hurhur Izanagi hurhur), they have a "path" to follow through the Major Arcana, which is the story of the Fool. While Souji began his faithfully, Adachi kind of teetered and fell off track. However, Adachi was still part of Souji's journey.

The whole prospect of the Fool is interesting. The pathway, the "clean slate" and the "accepting/dealing things as they come" sort of mentality has a lot to do with what I based Souji's personality on. He doesn't necessarily think of things in the past as something to hang on to. As the archetype of the traveler, he knows when he needs to let things go, and what's needed of him.Divinatory Significance-This is a time for change.
