File 16 - Encounter with Dark Mousey in Azumano

Oct 12, 2009 00:02

Well that was certainly a interesting. A change of pace, definitely. Not at all like my encounters with Kaitou Kid. Unfortunately, Dark managed to make off with the necklace, but I certainly put up a good fight. He'd do well not to underestimate my abilities in the future.

Although I have to wonder if I'm going to need to bring a spare change of ( Read more... )

Two thieves, Kanji-kun. Two. That is a not a lot.

But actually, I was wondering if you might help me with something... I'd gladly compensate you for your trouble, of course.

It seems like a lot because they do a lot....

What do you need me to do?

Well, Kid seems to do a lot. I don't know about Dark.

Well, you heard what happened to my suit... I'm not expecting you to fix that, but would it be possible for you to hem some shirt sleeves and pants for me? I'm going to be purchasing some "expendable" clothing from Junes, but everything runs too long on me.

They all steal stuff to me.

No problem, Naoto-kun. Just bring your stuff by the shop and I'll get it to you in a couple of days. Don't worry about paying either.

Yes, that's what phantom thieves do. But they're both very different people with very different motivations. They intrigue me, especially Kid.

I can't let you do all that work without compensation! If you don't want money, how about something else instead? Maybe I could cook for you?

How come?

...I don't think I want any more of your cooking.

Well... Kid was one of the first people who responded to my introductory post when I joined the community. He's a mysterious sort of man who constantly challenges me, both intellectually and physically. We've shared many long debates regarding law and order, and morality. Frankly, I want to know more about his motivations. I want to know why he does what he does. I want to know more about the man behind the mask. And the only way to do that is if I apprehend him during a heist!

...it's not that bad! I've been practicing, too! I can make rice balls without burning them now!

...Sounds like you like the guy a lot.

Is the rice any good?

Wh-what? Don't be stupid! I'm a detective and he's a phantom thief! We're like mortal enemies, eternal rivals!

Of course it's good, Kanji-kun. I'm not like Yukiko-san. My food tastes good, as long as it doesn't end up on fire...

Rise-chan says a lot that opposites attract or something.

You ever give it to somebody to eat?

Feh. Says the girl who thinks it's a good idea to post fake love notes to the community...

I've eaten them. And so has Mello. I would never give badly cooked food to anyone. That's just cruel, trying to force someone to choke down food that I haven't tasted first.

Let's not talk about it.

Mello? Who's that?

Agreed.
