File 13 - Storm God's Tear Heist [Time Stamp 1:08 AM]

Oct 01, 2009 22:00

Well, Kid showed up at midnight, as his note said he would, to steal the Storm God's Tear. I enlisted the aid of both Hakuba and Conan-kun to help me out. Though we were unable to apprehend him, at least we were able to prevent him from making off with the jewel. The credit for that belongs with Conan-kun. Without his help, I fear that Kid would ( Read more... )

Naoto-niichan, you should never trust anyone at Kid heists, even your partner.

But Hakuba... he's my partner! How can I not trust him when he's supposed to be looking out for me?

Still, that was pretty amazing, you being able to see through his disguise like that. You knew almost immediately, didn't you?

I know how you feel, Kid disguised as Ran once.

Almost, I had some doubts at first but but after a few minutes it became clear to me that he was Kid.

... so he really can disguise himself as a woman?

I have to admit, Conan-kun, I'm a little bit jealous of you. You managed to corner Kid on the roof and prevent him from making off with the Storm God's Tear. If it weren't for your help, Kid would have gotten away far too easily, with the jewel in hand.

Yeah, he seems to really like disguising as women.

Don't be Jealous, I just know how to think like that guy would. And I can always tell when he's around.

...just what exactly are you implying, hm~? That Kid's a crossdresser? I wouldn't put it past him...

You must have been chasing after Kid for quite a while, to know how he thinks that intimately. As long as Hakuba, maybe... Even so, I knew you were a brilliant detective, but I couldn't quite appreciate that fact until I saw it with my own eyes.

Guess I have a lot of catching up to do, huh?

I'm not saying that, per say, but I have noticed he prefers disguising as cute girls.

Not that long actually, I've only been to a few heists.

That's a bit strange...

But you act like a real veteran! It's... it's genius, that's what it is! If I hadn't seen you in action with my own eyes, I'm not certain even I would believe that an eight-year-old child could thwart an international jewel thief.

Hm. And to think, when I was your age, I was still helping Grampa with his cases from behind the scenes...

I'm actually pretty well known on my world for foiling Kid's plans.

As famous as Shinchi Kudo-san, I wonder?

The Shirogane family is nationally acclaimed as the best when it comes to detective work. I'm the fifth successor to that name. And while my family's reputation precedes me, I need to prove that I can live up to that name, as well. That's why I need to keep pushing my limits constantly.

A-ah! Not quite, Shinichi-niichan is known all over Japan as the detective of the east and the savior of the Japanese police force, I'm not that good yet.

But one day, you will be, I'm sure. At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if you ended up surpassing him.

Why not? You're young. You still have your whole life ahead of you. Who can say what the future holds?

I don't know, Shinichi-niichan's pretty good.

Well, I suppose you'd know him better than I would...

Even so, I really enjoyed working with you, Conan-kun. We make a pretty good team, don't we?

And next time, I'll try even harder, so I won't be a burden to you and Hakuba!
