Next year, I'm going to do the smart thing and call in sick for the school camping trip. It really is as bad as Senpai made it out to be.

You went camping with your school?

Yes. It's supposed to be a way to foster an appreciation for the beauty of nature... but all we did was pick up trash that other people left behind. Can you believe someone threw a bicycle into the river? A whole bicycle! That's such a waste...

A bicycle? In the river? That's terrible! Someone could use that!

I know! I actually decided to keep it for myself and fix it up. It would certainly make traveling around town a lot easier.

That's a good idea. If you need any help with it, let me know.

I'd like that, actually. I'm going to have to custom order a few parts... The frame is rusted out in a few places, but I think we could rebuild it to be even better than before!

Mm! That's be fun.

Oh! That reminds me! I just finished working on your cell phone, but I didn't have time to give it to you before the camping trip.

Um...well...I'm kinda in the middle of something right now...I'll have to get it from you later? But thank you! I really appreciate you doing that for me!

I understand. You and Ed both are sort of... caught up in more important matters at the moment... Besides, I doubt I'd be able to wander about Fort Briggs undetected, anyway.

Mm! They're very strict here. I have an escort wherever I go.

It makes sense... I mean, you are in a military facility. It wouldn't be wise for a civilian to wander about on their own. There are lots of restricted areas...

So, how is Ed's new automail doing? I trust you've gotten him back in working order?

It seems to be doing okay. He hasn't complained, to me, at least.

Well, then he's probably doing just fine. I mean, you're the expert when it comes to automail, so...

Actually, I'm a bit curious as to the differences between standard automail and the cold-weather type. His alchemy didn't work on it, so I'm assuming it's forged from an alloy with a lower percentage of iron in it?

A-ah! I'm no expert. I'm still learning!

But the northern weight automail has more carbon in it, so it won't conduct cold as easily.

Don't be so modest. I've seen your work, and it's certainly revolutionary, given your world's level of technology. It's a good thing you're so knowledgeable, because Ed doesn't seem to be interested in that sort of thing. It must make your work that much harder at times...

I see... It would also serve to enhance its flexibility without sacrificing the structural integrity of the steel... Yes, yes. It's not so different from the forging techniques used to create katanas in my world...
