File 04 - [Locked from Hakuba]
I've finally completed work on Hakuba's present. I'll have to work on the debug program this evening, just to make sure everything's working as it should. It's been ages since I've tinkered around in the workshop. Luckily, I had some uncompleted garage kits sitting around in the attic, still in perfect condition, after all these years. Grampa made a few inquires into my work, but when I told him it was a surprise gift for a friend, he didn't press the issue. Honestly, I think he's just happy to see me in such high spirits, considering the incident in Inaba...
Yakushiji-san, on the otherhand, seemed a bit suspicious. "What are you up to now, Naoto-sama?" It's been a while since I've heard him say that... Sometimes, that man makes me feel like a criminal in my own home. But I know he means well...
I'm feeling a bit nervous, actually. I haven't attended a social gathering like this in years, and I'm afraid my conversational skills are a bit rusty. Not only that, I want to make a good first impression with Hakuba. If we're going to be working together on this case, then its important to build a good rapport.
I'd best eat an early lunch and go back to work. I have to make sure everything's working by this evening. The party is tomorrow!
