File 50 - [Fatal Frame Virus-START]

Mar 26, 2010 10:49

I was poking around the attic this morning for some reason and came across an antique camera that belonged to my great-great-grandfather. I didn't even know something like this was still up here. I suppose this proves that everyone in the Shirogane family are notorious packrats, but at least its one way of preserving our personal history. There's even an old photo album with several photos of my ancestors. I'm surprised by how well-preserved it all is despite being kept in a dusty old chest for all these years.

It's interesting, the different ways in which people seek to preserve history; to battle the ravages of time so that their stories may endure for generations to come. Whether we rely on an oral tradition or commit words to paper, people have always been fascinated by stories from the past. It makes me wonder what sort of stories people will remember about me in the generations to come...

I can't be certain... but I thought I saw an old woman wearing a white kimono walking down the hall. She reminded me of my grandmother, but...

No. That's impossible. She died when I was very young. I barely even remember her face...

Is this... some sort of residual effect from having entered Yomi...? I've heard stories about people capable of seeing things beyond the veil after having a near-death experience, but...

Perhaps I'm reading too much into this? I've been staying up awfully late for the past few nights. And... I've been thinking about my parents a lot recently, ever since Rukia-san...

My mind must be playing tricks on me... That's all. If I were seeing the spirits of the dead, then I'm certain Senpai and the others would be, too. We all entered Yomi together, and came back...
