File 41 - Kaitou Kid's Valentine's Day Heist

Feb 15, 2010 00:19

...Ah, Kid? Could you not... heist on holidays anymore? The community has a penchant for inflicting holiday-themed viruses, and this latest one was... rather awkward...

Also, inquiring minds wish to know if you're the sort to reciprocate chocolates on White Day.

valentine's day, !virus, kid heist, well this is awkward, issei ryudo, red string of fate, kaitou kid, saguru hakuba

I doubt that he can be as considerate.

I beg to differ, especially if you look at the comment below.

So, um... What did you think of the chocolates Cordelia and I made for you? Did you get a chance to try them?

[He read it.] You gave a thief chocolate.

Those were really good, thank you. Tell her thanks from me too.

But I gave all my male friends chocolate this year...

I'm really glad you liked them. I'll be sure to pass the message along to Cordelia.

Um... I hope your arm isn't too sore after being jerked around by that string so much...

You are friends with a thief?

I did..but you didn't had to cook for me, you know.

My finger it's a bit sore, but I will survive.

Something like that, yes...

But I wanted to! Store bought chocolates just don't send the same message as homemade chocolates. My mother used to say that something you make with your own hands carries the weight of the feelings of the one who made it. That's why only homemade chocolates would do for my closest friends.

Ah, that's good to hear. And, um... I'm sorry about that bit of awkwardness there... toward the end of the heist... [Referring to falling on top of Hakuba and accidentally kissing him when he jerked her string.]

That makes chasing him difficult. It compromise the case.

[He's blushing, good job Naoto.]In that case, I'm flattered.

[And now blushing more.] Don't apologize, I should pay more attention to what I am doing, it was also my fault.

You could say we're friendly rivals, like Lupin and Zenigata.

W-Well, at least this shouldn't happen again! I mean, Kid said he wouldn't heist on holidays anymore, and a thief doesn't lie, right?

That works for me.

that's what he says, but I disagree. A thief lies all the time. he's nothing but a facade. What' behind it, what's the truth, that is what we need to discover.

Isn't it the same for you and Kid? I mean, you're rivals, but you don't hate each other... right?

Yes. That's what's always intrigued me the most about him, ever since I first joined the community. To learn about the man behind the mask... That is the one mystery that I have not been able to solve during my career as a detective.

No hating someone doesn't mean that we are friends either. [Sorry Naoto, he won't admit it. Never :|]

Dot' get too close...you might regret it.

Well, that stands to reason. [She knows better, regardless of whether Hakuba admits it or not~]

I think it's a bit late for that... I know, I know. Detectives aren't supposed to get emotionally involved in their casework.

It does? [>.>]

No if they still want to be objective.

Of course. People can feel indifferent toward one another. So, what do you think of Kaitou Kid? He seems to hold a great deal of respect for the detectives who challenge him.

People can't be objective all the time, though. It's human nature to be subjective because everyone has their own opinions and experiences which are unique only to them.

He's a good opponent. A challenge.

You can be subjective and you can't fall for it, there's a difference.

That's certainly one thing we can agree on!

I know. No matter how charming a phantom thief may be, he's still a thief, and thieves are criminals that must be apprehended. I haven't forgotten that.
