[RL with Kanji]
It was the third day since Naoto had been rescued from the TV world. Most of the hustle and bustle had died down by now, but Kanji, Hakuba, and Haibara had become constant caretakers to Naoto. Neither of the two boys who had appointed themselves as Naoto's primary caregivers wanted to leave her home alone for any length of time, so one or the other was always there. Naoto was certain that Kanji would gladly have skipped out on school if he could, but he really couldn't afford to miss anymore classes (goddamn mandatory attendance policy).
School had let out, and Kanji hurried straightaway to Naoto's flat. Haibara and Hakuba decided to take the opportunity to go grocery shopping so that he could make her some "special soup," to aid in her recovery. While Naoto had heard that Hakuba was a rather good cook, she'd never had the opportunity to try some of his food.
Naoto sat on the couch downstairs next to Kanji. She was curled up beneath some blankets and watching TV. Well, not really watching it per se. The white noise helped to distract her from her thoughts and kept her awake. She really didn't want to go to sleep if she could help it...
