Yesterday, I was gifted the new Van Hunt CD. And why? Because the day before I had a break (I'm not yet sure if it was a breakdown or a breakthrough) and it was pretty awful.
So my friend Nita surprised me at work with a Thai Iced tea, 2 Popeye's biscuits, roses, a card, and the new Van Hunt CD (I had mentioned that I was sad that I had lost my Van Hunt cd, so she attempted to replace it, but really ended up getting me the new one, that I didn't even know was out). *tear*
She caught me just as I was leaving the office with my boss and co-worker to go to a meeting at the theater. It occured to us both with her marching up to the door with flowers and gifts my boss probably thinks she's my lover. *shrug* At least she'll think I'm getting some.
Wasn't that sweet? If I could've accessed any emotions I might have shed one or two (small) tears, but it did really cheer me up. It's nice to look around and realize you have that great of a friend. It's nice to know somebody thinks I'm fabulous and worth the effort. Feels good, man. I need more good friendships like that. I'm a lot to handle, I need to spread myself around, lol.
(I'm trying to re-break-in another good friend who I just found out is in the area. It's probably been about 2 years since I talked to her last, but she was a very good friend. But people's lives can change a LOT in that amount of time. )
Check the new icon. Funny enough, I downloaded
blackestsheep's elevation mix yesterday and was excited about the Van Hun song "Dust" on there (from the first album), and not two hours later I had a brand new Van Hunt CD in my hand. I get how the universe works now: first it squashes you, and then it gives you gifts. Word.
I'm trying to decide if I want to go to see Van Hunt in concert in early May. It's not really whether or not I want to go see him, it's whether or not I want to see him in that setting, for that amount of money. He's opening for Anthony Hamilton and Heather Headley in the big ass Constitution Hall. I like the other two just fine, but I'm not gaga over them. I want to see Van Hunt and his band in a more intimate setting. Like in my bedroom, lol.
Something about that man's music is sexy. Mmm. Like I want to close my eyes and snuggle up and do something slow and freaky. Lawd.
Check out that stubble. Mmmm! Someone get the hose, please.
