Today's Scripture:
James 2:1-26
The passage today is, again, another one that can be difficult to swallow. We start out with favoritism. I wish I could say differently, but I struggle with this. Maybe not to the extent of the example used in the passage, but I do. It's so much easier to do things for or to be partial to people I like or get along with than for people I'd rather not be around. This one is going to take some praying.
The next section of the passage tackles the faith/works dilemma. For me, I love this section. It's a great litmus test for believers. It spells out, in no uncertain terms, the cause and effect of true belief in Jesus. A true believer will always be actively living out their faith. Always. They are not saved by the good they do. They do good because they are saved.
