She's already angry enough with her death, and the penalty, and so far has had nightmares, reliving her death. The moment before, when cold steel pierced her chest, then the choking, crushing blackness...and the time after, spent in a dead world with no color.

She wanted to not even touch on this at all.

[Edward pauses before he responds. It's pretty damn obvious that she's upset, and after what she just described, he really can't blame her. So she's someone who died- maybe even recently. And as much as he'd like to ask her more questions about that - for Al, it's for Al's sake, he'll tell himself a million times it's not just to indulge in his own curiosity or for science - he just... can't. Not when she sounds so distressed by the subject alone.]

[That's kind of a hard question to answer without revealing the nature of his alchemy or relationship with Al, so he pauses at first before responding.]

On most worlds, it's impossible to revive the dead. Where I'm from, I learned the truth of that fact not too long ago. For a scientist, understanding the nature of life and death is... pretty crucial. It sounds cold, but being here gives me a unique opportunity to learn.

Death...should be permanent. It is back where I'm from, too. But we celebrate our dead. We cherish and honor their spirits with gifts, sake, and all sorts of celebrations. [Obon, for one. Miyabi briefly wonders, if the Oina would celebrate Obon this year. If...they survived, that is. No. No, they will. They will.]

So long as you're not...disrespecting their, then I think it's very wise of you to seek answers, sir. Just....just know that it's not something you should toy with. Dying is...it's the most terrifying thing you'll ever experience. [Or at least getting killed is. Dying peacefully...maybe that's different. Miyabi's curious about that now, too.]

It's not something I'd seek out just to experience. There's too much at stake, and too much at risk. Answers and experience like that aren't worth dying for.
