So construction is fun. You get to use power tools that make loud noises, and you get to take hammers and pound on wood, making lots of noise in the process. Then, at the end of it all, you get to see this neat new thing that you built.

DEstruction on the other hand is downright theraputic. We're gutting houses in New Orleans, because there are houses that need gutting. So we have to take out the walls. Tools that are good for this are: Hammer, prybar, bigger prybar. Now, when you're building things, you usually have a tool belt for things like that. When you're taking down walls, it's not as important. Why? Well, because if you need a spot to rest your tool for a moment, you just beat a hole in the plaster/drywall/whatever and you leave it there, hanging.

It's really fun.

Also, why aren't you in New Orleans helping clean up? It turns out the city has decided they want to kick out all the black people and gentrify. The way they've decided to go about doing this is that they set a deadline: If your house isn't gutted and mold free by the 31st of January, we're going to steal it from you, demolish it and sell the land to Wall-Mart or some other high bidder. Because gentrification is a good thing.

So come help save someone's home. It's good work, it's a lot of fun, and they'll feed you and give you a place to stay. All you've got to do is show up, so what's your excuse? As for my excuse as to why I didn't get here sooner, I haven't got one.
