I'm coming back on Wednesday. Overall, it's been an unpleasant trip.
Other than going to a seafood restaurant that has the best clam chowder I've ever had, it's not been fun. I don't feel like going into any details about it right now. It's almost midnight here and I'm freezing my ass off.
Oh, wait. When I was flying to Chicago, I woke up on our descent, and . . . never had I wished for a camera more than I did then. I'll try to describe it. After that huge snowstorm that the Midwest and Boston got, Chicago had just opened.
Anyway, I looked out the window, and the sky was totally clear. The ground was covered with snow, and was totally flat. I swear there wasn't even a snowdrift. The moon was shining on the snow, as far as I could see. Little lines marked the roads, and little towns, glittering like scattered gold jewlery, dottd the ground. And off in the distance, I could see clouds surrounding a mass of light that was Chicago.
It was spectacular, and the moon made all the difference (we took the night flights). Anyway, the artist in me wante to say that. Talk to you all when I get back.
