So, two days ago I'm on ASU Interactive making sure I don't have any hoops to jump through in order to officially "accept" my scholarship stuff. I'm looking at the report and I'm confused. The $250 from the National Merit Corp. is there but the tuition waiver and $2,500 from the University is not. I assume this is a clerical error and call the scholarship office. As always, they see "Nat. Merit" in my file and send me to Pat's voicemail. She finally calls me back yesterday afternoon and I explain my confusion. She says "oh, we're not renewing that." In case you are unsure, the proper mental response to this comment is "What the FUCK?!" I explain, as calmly as humanly possible that I had NMSC reinstate my scholarship (Yes, that's on there) and that the U was supposed to reinstate their part when that happened (oh, I was advised not to do that). 'Scuse me? She's the person in charge of Merit Scholars. She finally says that she'll check on it and get back to me. I proceed to have a minor heart attack and call my mom. As always, she tells me not to stress too much and that I'll figure something out no matter what.
Beyond that, the day was pretty good. Got all my scheduling stuff at the Phx Zoo worked out made a darn good dinner, though not quite up to the standards I'd hoped (stupid steak. It over-cooked itself! I swear!). Inflated my "in case of drunks" air mattress and watched a lovely movie involving boys dressed as girls with my superiorly lovely (and dressed as a boy) boyfriend. Have I mentioned it's nice to be able to say "boyfriend" and not worry that I'm somehow going to get in trouble for it? Though I'm still getting accustomed to the idea that PDA won't get my hands cut off.
So, I planned on camping at the scholarship office until they caved to my will. However, I was very sleepy and, still in bed, I received a call at 820 telling me that the whole scholarship had been reinstated and I didn't need to do anything else and it was all taken care of. A check of the interweb confirmed this. Now, I don't know which gods or demons thought that was a fun trick, but I don't approve. However, I'm happy to say that my life seems to have settled back into its "too good to be true" vibe and I'm pretty damned happy about that. Except the part where Levi goes back to Texas Monday. Whore! (points in general direction of Scottsdale) However, I go to Texas next month to have a look around. Yes, I know, the bible-belters will be cowering in my wake. But as long as I can avoid being lynched, that'll be fun! I've also got a real estate agent on call to drag me around to look at houses. I am so cool! Well, really, my mom is cool but that's a different story. If you actually read this far, good for you! You, like me, clearly have nothing better to do!
