A brief moment of vanity

Jun 14, 2010 17:31

So, I really hate to say this, but I'm going to.

I'm awesome.

Before you start in with your throes of: "No you're not, dude, don't lie!" let me tell you why.

It's because when I have good hair days, I have really good hair days.  I thought that today was going to be a complete wash because the heat index is 105 and it's super-humid out.  I didn't have a lot of time to dry my waist-lengthish golden caramel tresses this morning, for two reasons:

#1:  We changed our hours at work to 8:00 instead of 8:30, losing 30 minutes of my eat-breakfast-dry-hair routine, because God forbid I get out of bed before 7:15, and,
#2:  The five minutes I did spend drying my hair left me with almost no change and really sweaty.  Yes, I've heard of A/C, but I've also heard of cheap power bills.

So, with those things in mind, I thought it was going to be a ho-hum-hair-looks-like-crap Monday.

This is not how it happened, though.  I have banana curls (as my momma called them when I was little) swinging mid-back, and it's not frizzy hair at all, which was a risk when I left it the way I did today.  Normally, the banana curls happen after a few squirts of my Paul Mitchell's Round Trip and about 15 minutes with my diffuser on low... otherwise, I turn into Bohémienne.  My coworker (the zealous receptionist) calls my hair 'princess hair' ... and if that doesn't flutter my peacock feathers, I don't know what will.

So, yes.  Forgive my vanity, but I had to share.  Today, I am slightly more awesome than yesterday.

I would love to hear about your peacock strutting as well.  Please add in your comments.

and...i'm awesome, work
