A shining moment of common sense!

I just had a moment of incredible relief:

My twin’s wife (how weird is it to say that!?  I’m going to have to get used to it!) just called me - I had called her on Friday night regarding some pottery she wanted painted, which I won’t have a chance to finish/bring with me when I go home this week.

She messaged me on FB telling me she’d call me later.  It’s 10:20, and she called me this morning.  I give a hushed, “Hi, Ruth!”

She asked me if she woke me up.  Lol, if only!  I told her I was at work, and you know what she says? “Oh?  Can we talk later, then?”

Omg, I about hit the floor.  What a novel thought, not chitchatting whilst earning money, which almost always gets me a look of distain from my boss and a comment about how I “talk to my family too much,” (which is a topic for another time).

I told her I get off after six, and would that be ok?  She said sure.  Omg!

Now, some of you might be wondering why this is a BFD.  It’s a BFD because SIL #2 calls me almost daily, refuses to use my direct line, harasses the staff here, and then asks me if I “have a minute.”  I’m a shit liar, so I always say I do, because I often have a minute or two.  This turns into a twenty-minute conversation about what Allie is doing, or what Brother #2 is up to, or something mundane that could wait until I am wasting my time, not my college’s.

I have mentioned, numerous times, that I’m under a lot of pressure here, and have crap to get done, however, these comments go in one ear and out the other.

I guess I’m just amazed that SIL #5 listened to what I have to say, and from now on, she’ll realize I have a 9-5 just like most of the rest of the world.  (The Twin works graveyard, three days on, four off, etc.)  I love her.  My heart is now warm for this new SIL that before was just mildly enthusiastic.  I’m going to have to give her a huge hug when I see her Thursday.  =)

family, sil #2, sil #5, win!
