[It had taken Tus some time after waking up to actually notice the journal and pick it up. Possibly because he was not only wondering how he came to be in this place, but how he came to be anywhere at all. He was reasonably sure he remembered dying

And it is coming from the book.
Well. Daggers that turn back time, he supposes books that speak are really the only next logical step. Of course.
He looks at the journal again, and is moderately surprised to find that the words have been accompanied by text that, fortunately, he does understand.]
I had only just become aware of the existence of some of those forces before I found myself here. You have seen them yourself?
[There's a pause, because it is a book. Then he forges on ahead, because it seems to have answers.]
Someone other than Nizam managed to get ahold of these forces, then?

[She pauses.]
I fear I still do not know who Nizam is, however it would seem that...yes. It is someone other than whom you speak of pulling the strings. In this case, it seems to be Lord Deior. Prior to my incarceration here in the Keep, it was a one Captain Redd.

[He frowns at this.]
The one who has placed himself responsible for fixing what has gone wrong? I cannot say I am surprised. His methods are certainly questionable.

Yes. I do not trust him whatsoever. I have seen, and been involved with, a similar circumstance. I am not eager to trust a 'leader' or a 'staff' blindly.

[He's starting to get that, no, this is not the book talking to him.]
Nor am I. I have myself been involved with circumstances that lead me to believe those who would claim to lead and guide you cannot always be trusted.
What do you mean by 'similar'?

At least until they have proven themselves otherwise. A good ruler does not rule with an iron first and harsh judgement. Wisdom is power.
...Prior to my residence here at the Keep, I was a passenger of an enormous vessel called the MS Elegante. The situation was much the same - I, along with many others - were pulled from our respective homes with the gilded promise that we were being 'saved' by the captain and his crew.
Before that, I was Princess Zelda of Hyrule - a kingdom that I have been told, on numerous occasions, no longer exists.

[And he smiles at her next words. He couldn't agree more.]
Spoken like one who is truly wise.
It is troubling to think there is more than one person operating with similar methods, holding people prisoner with such powerful magic.
[And yes, it only makes sense that she is a princess.]
It is a pleasure to meet you, princes. I am King Tus, of the Persian Empire - which I have been told no longer exists as well.

I could not agree with you more. [While Captain Redd had not been the welder of the End's power, he certainly had magical capabilities that far outstripped her own. That in itself was deeply perplexing and concerning.
...King? Well.]
It is an honor to meet you, Your Majesty. [Zelda supposed that she ought to introduce herself as queen these days - it had been the even of her coronation that Zant had swept the castle after all - but after twenty years of being called 'Princess', the title has stuck.]
I am afraid that is not an Empire that I am familiar with, though I will wager you are unfamiliar with Hyrule.

[It is still a bit strange, hearing 'your majesty' instead of 'your highness.' There's been moments when he's not entirely sure he'll ever get used to it, but he sets them aside as quickly as possible. He must adjust to it.
He's momentarily taken aback - the Persian Empire is the largest in the world, after all - but what she says is true. He hasn't heard of her kingdom, there's no reason to expect she would have heard of his.]
I am not familiar with it, I fear. It must be a great land, with so wise a princess.

Perhaps Hyrule could be made once more.
It was certainly something to think about, especially in relation to Ganondorf.
...Something to ponder.]
Thank you, for your words. Persia is in good hands, with you as their King.

[Perhaps he will have to look it up, once he manages to get out of here and put a stop to whoever is behind this, after he ensures Persia's safety.
He still has no doubt that this can be put right again. Persia is the greatest empire the world has known; it cannot end this way.
Her last words, however, make him smile. Even though he is not certain he believes them, it is very nice to hear.]
I can only hope it to be true, Your Highness. And I thank you, as well.

If you have need of anything, please do not hesitate to ask. I will do my best to answer any questions you might have.

[And he will indeed. It's one of the things he enjoys most about his travels back home, the opportunity to see such beautiful lands.]
You are certainly most gracious, princess. You have my thanks, once again.
