If you want headphones, buy Sennheisers. They're beautiful quality and well-regarded, but here's the thing - I really, really don't like those whole-ear-covering headphones. You know, the good ones, like Sennheiser makes. And earbuds just aren't comfortable for me. I like the style of those hideously $3 airplane headphones, the ones that are a tiny ( Read more... )

They really are awesome. What kind did you get? (I don't actually recommend rolling over the wire twice a day with a heavy rolling chair but if you want to, you can! Yay Sennheiser!)

I like the big circumaural kind. But I have a habit of rolling over the cord, too. To the point that my previous headphones were constantly being soldered back together at the (new and replaced several times) stereo miniplug.

I think I'll be more careful with these this time around, though.

Oo, nice.

And yeah, I try to be as careful as possible (I'm not actually trying to kill them) but the cord was so short I had to get an extender, which runs under the desk - therefore there's always loads of cord lying around, and it's hard not to accidentally roll a wheel on top of it.

That is precisely my problem, too, down to the extender. And they're always falling off my desk (which is piled-over with way too much stuff) and landing on the floor, or getting knocked over by my cat, or I'm sneezing too hard and they fall off my head, or...

...yeah, my headphones almost always end up having duct tape or electrical tape all over them within about six months.

Senns are traditionally super-duper resilient, though. I'm looking forward to putting them to the test.
