I don't even remember when the last time was I wrote in this journal! Tonight has been low key, and while my cookies are in the oven I thought I'd post:)
I am currently worked in Oxford (near Norwich) as a middle school band teacher. The first month was intimidating, but I am IN LOVE with my career right now. My students are creative, energetic, entertaining, sweet and keep me on my toes. There isn't one day that goes by that I'm not glad I am a teacher. I teach beginning band students through 8th grade. I have three concert bands and a jazz band. Its so weird thinking how I was still in college a year ago. Some parts of that are difficult to let go of, others I am glad to be moving on.
Friends are beginning to get married- wow! Danielle this coming summer, and Margaret in two weeks! I am a bridesmaid in both and am excited. I am so incredibly happy for both. Its wonderful seeing where my friends are right now, and where they are going and who they are with.
clinton is doing very well. He got a job working for the Chairman of Columbia Records. His first day he got to work with Radiohead, this week its ACDC. Its harder than I imagined being away from him. Seeing him for one or two days a month is hard... but its making us stronger and I couldn't be happier for him.
It is weird living alone, and not near home. I miss my family and friends a lot. There is no Kimmel, Clinton isn't across the street and my best friend isn't down the hallway. Bills are awful. Between rent, bills and car payments, I'm barely saving anything. Between that, and workin in schools more directly now- I soooo appreciate my upbringing and family support!
The more I move away from the college life (which I don't feel far removed at all)... I am beginning to realize the things that are really important to me. One thing that I've been focusing more on the past year has been my religion. I am in no way trying to preach to any of you and we all know I am far from perfect(I don't think anyone reads this anyway)... but this is something that makes me feel more complete and helps me realize my place- soooo if you ever want to ask I hope you know you can:) to each his own.
Lets see, any other random info? I decided my maturity level is about the same as my middle schoolers... its so hard NOT to laugh at some of their jokes!
I work in a one stop light town... and I was pulled over at the stoplight for making a right on red.
A 80 year old woman named Mrs. Allen lives beneith me. Shes cooks for me a lot. Today was stuffed shells.
I want to get a pet but can't afford it. :P
I miss my life in college, but am happy with how things are moving.
Cookies are done... bye:)
