Recently, my sister has become obsessed with
Korean girlband SNSD, or Girls' Generation. To the point where she's obsessively trolling youtube for videos and learning how to do their dances. I'm completely flummoxed because this interest has come completely out of nowhere, and it's easily the longest she's been interested in any musical artist.
Anyhoo, she somehow got sucked into watching endless Korean reality tv shows where Korean girl- and boybands are paired up to do ridiculous things. It's like part Survivor, part Big Brother. And it was through these shows that she's gotten interested in two of the biggest Korean boybands, 2AM and 2PM. (They're managed by the same boyband factory management).
So one night months ago, she told me about this, like, multi-boyband parody of a Korean girlband music video. Apparently genderbending various pop bands is a Very Popular Thing in Korea. And I have to admit, it's pretty amazing.
I highly recommend you refrain from drinking or eating while watching the youtubes under the cut.
So this is the original music video of the song Abracadabra, by a group called Brown Eyed Girls.

As you can see, pretty standard fare for videos nowadays. They seem to have taken an awful lot of cues from Britney and Madonna.
Then watch the male version of this. (I *think* there's members of at least two boybands in there, or it might be one giant one since they usually number up to 9 members at any one time) I think this was made for one of those crazy reality shows my sister watches. The guy in the sparkly pink shrug is amazing.

Yes. They are from actualfax boybands (accompanied by the original girlband), and are not just random reality tv contestants. This parody has been so popular among Koreans, it's even been parodied by
the Korean Students Association of UMass.
They are also willing to do this on talk shows. (The other song featured in this is by SNSD)
