Anyone in Singapore? It's time to Make Pink Dot again.
(Scenes from last year's event) Last year I posted about the first mass public show of support for LGBT rights in Singapore, and on May 15th they're doing it all over again. Sadly I won't be able to go this year as I'll be flying back from Camp Sparkle at that time, but if you're in the vicinity, go. Just GO. It's not a protest, just a simple celebration of love for all.
As usual the Pink Dot team have come up with some extremely well done and touching youtube videos, with a focus on family this year. (Huge kudos to them for appropriating a phrase that has come to leave such a bad taste in people's mouths, and then turn it into a positive message.) Their first few videos have the parents of LGBT people in Singapore talking about their stories. Totally made me tear up at work.
