So, Joseph and I were supposed to have the first of our "Getting to Know Each Other" talks on Tuesday. He calls me (very responsible of him, I might add, which is a new thing) to say he's losing his voice. GO figure, since he spent the day before screaming his guts out at a concert. Says he'll call Wednesday. He does (surprising me yet again), but I'm watching Everything Is Illuminated with Nicole and Zac, so I tell him I'll call him back. He's asleep by the time we're done. Tries to call yesterday, when I was sitting in Transformers with Kieran and Jessie. Texts me to ask if I can call him today during the day, as he has all early classes next semester and is trying to get on a normal sleep schedule. WHERE IS ALL THIS MATURITY COMING FROM?!?!?!? Craziness. So, I FINALLY call and get ahold of him today, and he's getting ready to hang out with some of the guys. GAH! Apparently, he's going to call later tonight, but who knows. My life is so complicated as of late.
For example, went out and tagged Neil and Brittany's cars the other night as payback for them Saran-Wrapping Nicole's car a few days before. He drove, as he is very "efficient" (aka he speeds). We had tons and tons of fun and actually surprised Neil and Britt. Went to Blockbuster to visit Jen, which was cool because I haven't seen her since graduation. She was working with this scary butch looking girl named Shari, who was literally about 4 and a half feet tall, spent the entire half hour we were there on her Bluetooth, and looked exactly like one of my brother's fiends from when he was 10. Anyway, we rented a couple of movies and went back to Nicole's to watch one. When we got out of the car, I surreptitiously left a note with my number in it, asking him to call if he ever wanted to grab coffee or lunch and just hang out.
I was rather proud of myself, but OF COURSE, I left my keys in his car, so when it came time to leave, I told him that, and RAN out to his car (which was luckily unlocked) to retrieve them and make a speedy getaway before he saw the note. He must have thought I was a total spaz, as I ran of to my car with a panicked "see you around". Haven't heard from him, but I'm honestly not surprised. It was just very fun and liberating to do something like that on the spur of the moment. But all friendly get togethers from here on out are sure to be just a little awkward. But that's (my) life. Oh, and did I mention that the both of us are reading the same book? Weird.
