Okay... this is going to be a pretty broad entry. I have been thinking about the concept of jealousy recently. A certain someone I know thinks it is the most awful thing in the entire world. I can understand how jealousy can be bad... how it can ruin relationships, ect. HOWEVER, I do not think there is only one kind of jealousy. I sometimes think that jealousy can be a semi-good thing. I mean, it does not have to be a harmful or spiteful feeling. Jealousy can in a rather silly or sick way make someone feel special or flattered. You probably don't know what I am talking about but... for instance, say there is a couple. The girl goes out with one of her guy friends and playfully asks her boyfriend, "you jealous?" He could playfully say "yes." And that would be flattering. OR if this certain girlfriend went out with her girlfriends to a party or club, and she got hit on... if the boyfriend wasn't the slightest bit jealous, then that would be somewhat disheartening... know what I am saying... I mean, to have your significant other be a little jealous can make you feel a little good, a little special, like you mean something.
I honestly don't know if you understand what I am saying. I am certainly not saying that jealousy is the best feeling in the world... but it can certainly keep some people alive and/or interesting. Maybe I am looking for a little justification or something... but I admit that I can certainly be a jealous person - who knew? Not I!
Later, alligators....
