Backing out of a plan. From thepowerplayers

I had heard Ilona’s problems and while I needed not worry about pleasing the Senior Partners, because I already had a vast network of connections to which everything and anything that I needed could be easily had, I took it upon myself to clear my calendar in Rome and the rest of Europe for a time, because doing favors for the Senior Partners was always something that you were handily compensated for in the long run. Besides, Ilona was a great sexual partner of mine and while she wasn’t the only one, she was a nice friend to have, if you got my drift.

My instructions weren’t iron clad. There were vampire slayers involved and Ilona immediately thought of me and the way that I had with women, and there was the opportunity to possibly bed one, then drug her after her bliss and things could be done to them. I savored that idea, unless it was Buffy. I could never hurt Buffy directly. Indirectly, I could and already was by helping the Senior Partners and Ilona, because Buffy would be on Angel and Spike’s sides on this and they were the opposition. Directly, I would never harm Buffy and while I would bed her again, I wouldn’t drug or harm her or let anyone else harm her.

She was the one girl in all of my existence that had rejected me, and for that, I missed her and had great respect for her. If there were other slayers involved, then I would gladly use my abilities or connections to achieve a result that Ilona wanted.

There was much talk about my ability to recruit and lure demons. Most demons, even in America, knew who I was both by reputation and by sight, and the Senior Partners had been ravaged and needed a new army to get their ball rolling. I decided that Las Vegas and Los Angeles had numerous demons that I could make see my way of thinking.

My private jet landed at LAX and immediately, I boarded a chopper, scouring the city to see how this battle had turned out. It was just as Ilona had said. Most of the demons were gone and even with my vision, a low-flying chopper and night-visions binoculars to aide things, the city proper seemed clean of demons, except for a few here and there.

But, as we drifted east, I saw a pack of demons killing civilians. I didn’t know if they were with the party of demons that had been primarily exterminated and I didn’t care. To avoid a hassle, I instructed my pilot to put down, but to hover near me. This would be the start of my recruiting mission. As I moved closer to the demons, my speed never a problem, ten times faster then they were, I saw that they were attacked and unfortunately, in order to keep stealth in order, I had to stay away from preventing this. I decided to help out. A demon looked me in the eye, seemed to know who I was, but before he could act as though he knew me, I put my fist through its throat and watched him fall. I then turned to face the two African humans that were still fighting.
