AEROSMITH.... 11-12-05 review....BOSTON, MA
better late than never...
well, I got to the arena at like 3:45pm.... went backstage at about 4:35 roughly.... Got to see the dressing rooms, etc... Tom Hamilton's door was open, and he was playing his guitar..or atleast fooling around with it.. so I got to say hi and stuff and meet him... that was cool...
Lenny Karvitz door was open.....CNN was playing on his tv... and I couldn't tell whether he had been smoking it up or whether he'd just been burning massive amounts of insense.. but whoooo, was the smell strong coming out of his room... lmao.. then he walked right by me in the hallway... that was awesome....
after the backstage part, we went out and got to watch Lenny Kravitz's sound check... and we got a special treat because Lenny came out to the check and starting playing the drums. (which we were told he very rarely ever does)... so that was f'in awesome too... I loved it...
got to meet all of the guitar techs for joe, tom and brad and look at all their guitars and stuff.... then we walked on the stage to the end of the catwalks, where me and my mom got our pictures taken...(me holding and rockin' with steven tyler's microphone & stand, and my mom wearing Joe Perry's guitar...which he used to open the show with..).....
once that was all taken care of.... we went to the VIP party, where we ate dinner (steven was eating dinner right next to me on the other side of the curtain (the curtain that separated us from the band's family....hahaha)...
One the concert started, it was all awesome... I sat section B (in between the dual catwalks up front next to the stage), row 4, seats 1 & 2.. (end seats on the cat walk on Joe Perry's side).....
I honestly was not that big of a fan of Lenny Kravitz, I mean I like him, but eh.... but let me tell you.... this is one of the cases where...DAMN... he plays better live, than he sounds on records.... His performance blew me away.. I was extremely impressed... he was awesome...
Once Aerosmith came on, I got to high five Tom Hamilton, touch Joe Perry's boot during the concert, etc... its all good... haha....
the setlist was awesome..... it was the best concert of theirs I've been to yet.. (out of 6 of them).... ~The fleetcenter security sucked, and the band got pissed a few times because of technical problems on the fleetcenters end (lighting, steven's ear peice, tom's guitar audio, etc.) but that didn't matter because they played off it, which made the show even better...
By the end of the night, I left my seat and ended up right in the front (even closer than the seats in the first row) at the stage.... I loved it.... got some great pictures...
I can't wait for the next one.. (rumor has it, they may be returning home for new year's eve show.. but who knows... I hope the rumor is true though!)
