What is a "truism"?
Princeton.edu defined it for me as "an obvious truth," but in this case that is only part of what a truism is. These statements are designed to provoke a reaction, they are often truths we do not want to face, some inherently contradict each other, and that is the beauty of them.

How do I make my claim?
Follow the instructions in this post. Make sure you read the FAQ before you claim, asking questions I've already answered is no joy.

May I make more than one claim?
Nope. You can change your claim, but then your previous fics are considered null and void.

What can I choose as a claim?
All fandoms are open. Television, video games, books, movies, comics. etc. And more than one person is allowed to claim the same fandom.
Within a fandom you are allowed to claim specific pairings (ex. Ron/Hermoine), individuals (Greg House), groups (The Others from Lost) and the general series. At this time, the claim "general" is on a one per fandom basis, but this may change.

One last word about claims. Pairings do not have to include both, or even either characters, in the traditional sense. They may be told from a third person's point of view as long as the focus of the fic remains on the pairing. The same goes for characters and groups. Group fics also do not need to include every member, but as a whole, the fics should focus on the group not a single character or pairing. Those who pick groups and end up honing their attention on one character or pairing with receive a disappointed look.

What is the official length of a fic?
As a general rule, 100 words or more is considered a fic. I am very lenient with this, however, as long as the story arc is complete. Those who abuse this leniency will also receive a disappointed look.

What ratings are allowed?
Any, although please use the G through NC-17 rating system to rate your fics.

Are crossovers and AUs allowed?
At this time, yes, both are allowed.

May I use two prompts in one fic?
No.

Do I have to go in order or may I skip around?
Skip around as much as you like.

Do you actually expect anyone to finish this whole list?
Not really. There are shiny banners involved for those who finish twenty-five, fifty, seventy-five and the grand ol' one hundred, as well as what will hopefully become a "hall of fame" of sorts.

That being said, if you claim to have finished twenty-five fics and five of those are "author's choice," you will receive a disappointed look. As a general rule, stick to one per twenty-five.
