MMmm... smog

Been in LA about 26 hours now. Not that I'm counting.

Lovely flight into this fair city - a toddler named "Aspen" (I wish I was making this up) kicked my chair the ENTIRE time - while Aspen's mother said "Oh Aspen honey, don't do that." in a tone that would put insomiacs to sleep.

Did I mention I have six stitches in my back from my lovely trip to the dermatologise? Yeah, the kicking was more than annoying - it was fucking painful. I finally had to trade seats with A.

Song has in-flight trivia. This makes me very happy.

Got in, enjoyed the dreary "marine layer" (I had forgotten the subtle difference between marine layer and smog - aside from the fact that one is toxic) and met our friends that we set up - who later got married - for breakfast at Sam and Woody's in Culver City.

Ah, Culver City. Yeah, that's all I can say about that.

Came in to Century City to stay with my old roommate from college and my first few years in LA. Her new condo is gorgeous. I won't mention what she paid. It's gorgeous and its perfect for her and I'm very proud of her. She looks great. She thinks she looks fat. That is because she lives in LA and anything over 110 on a 5'3" frame is considered fat.

I'm so glad I don't live here.

Caught up on gossip - oh by the way - Angelina and Brad were fucking from Day One - and then went to Asahi Ramen - my FAVORITE NOODLE HOUSE IN THE WHOLE WORLD!! The trip through little Tokyo was an added bonus. Gorged myself on noodles and then went to Second City to see my best friend - The Hot Redhead and watch a show.

I had some weird emotions - kind of felt like going back to high school - you don't know anybody and you are no longer relevant. My name is still up on the wall and my signature is still backstage. Other than that - no sign of me. Nobody knows me. Nobody should. More on that in a later post.

The show was - well I'll probably get into that later as well.

Left quickly, got some wine from Ralph's and stayed up with my old roommate until 5 am. Thus marking 28 solid hours I had been awake.

Have had a shower today and am off for more good breakfast food. Then my favorite shoe store (husband is very afraid), favorite record store and then to Apple Pan home to the world's best burgers.

Gonna meet up on Sunset tonight for Sushi and wander around the beautiful people.

Tommorrow taking Hot Redhead out for her birthday - Mani/Pedi and lunch at her favorite fish shack on Malibu. Of course a fish shack on Malibu is priced similar to Bern's but whaddyagonnado?

Then I get on a plane and leave. And I won't miss this place one bit.

27 hours...
