SPOILERS AND FRUSTRATION AFTER THE CUT.
For the love of all things holy, PLEASE someone talk to me about this. I have too many feels right now.
The writers couldn’t even have it be a clear ”winner” ffs. If anything, it seems like they’re just fucking with Stelena fans at this point.
Oh well we’ll have Elena kind of picking Stefan but kind of only because she met him first. BUT WAIT. SHE ACTUALLY MET DAMON FIRST. SO THIS MEANS SHE ACTUALLY WOULD PICK DAMON. AND OH, LET’S HAVE HER TURN INTO A VAMPIRE SO SHE GETS THAT MEMORY BACK.
AND WE’RE RIGHT BACK INTO A LOVE TRIANGLE.
I'M MORE FRUSTRATED NOW THAN I AM BEFORE THE EPISODE FREAKING AIRED.
Look, maybe I'm biased as a Stelena shipper but I'm getting really fucking pissed at how they're treating Stefan and his relationship with Elena. They couldn't have made it more freaking obvious that the writers and creators want Delena to happen. They've completely shown that this whole. Damn. Season. And now they're making it sound like she was only with Stefan because she MET HIM FIRST and because he saved her. If you're going to make Delena happen, GOD FORBID, then at least don't completely tear apart a character and a relationship that up until this season started, was played out to mean something. Even when, in this episode, they showed that Stefan clearly wants to let Elena make her own decisions while Damon wants to control her and make her decisions for her, they make it seem like she should ''obviously'' pick Damon.
AND WHAT THE FUCK WAS THE SCENE WHERE HE AND ELENA MET FOR THE FIRST TIME. Did they forget that at that time Damon was a complete and total PSYCHOPATH? HE WAS CRAZY. IT JUST MAKES IT MORE OBVIOUS THAT THEY'RE PUSHING DELENA LIKE CRAZY. THEY'VE EVEN CHANGED A CHARACTER'S PAST TO DO SO.
Sigh.
Anyway.
The whole thing with Tyler was... wow. I wasn't expecting that. At all.
I actually really enjoyed the last ten or so minutes. I thought it was, dare I say... beautiful? I loved the parallels between Elena almost dying with her parents and then almost (and well... actually dying) with Matt. I loved they kept cutting back and forth between the two scenes. I love that Stefan actually listened to Elena and saved Matt because that was what she wanted and I don't think she would have forgiven him if he saved her and let Matt die.
