The moderator of Homegrown.org brought this article to our attention over there on the forums! It's a very interesting read about the benefits of creating a root cellar in your basement! I had mentioned to Brian I'd like to do something like this at our next house (basement is a MUST). Saves money by keeping your harvest viable longer (cuts grocery bills), can cut the costs of the energy needed to refridgerate the items, and offers additional storage space!
