Chapter 1 - Chapter 2 - Chapter 3 - Chapter 4 - Chapter 5

Jensen let himself become lost in the kiss, he could feel Jared’s hands roaming across his body, taste the beer on his tongue and smell his aftershave. He let his hands wander and tangled them in Jared’s unruly hair, gripping it lightly to hold him close while they kissed.

Then he felt something change, Jared’s hands loosened and Jensen realised what was happening, so he pulled away quickly.

He could see Jared’s face flushed, chest rising and falling as he took a breath. “Sorry, Jared.” Jensen wiped his hands across his face. “That...that was a bad idea.”

“’s fine.”

“No, look just-” he took a step forward and Jared took one back. “Won’t happen again Jared, I swear it.” Jensen saw Jared nod quickly. “Sit down, okay?”

Jensen went to his kitchen and poured himself a glass of water, swallowing the contents quickly he walked back into the room. He was determined not to do anything stupid.

Like kissing Jared.

Again.

He sat down opposite Jared and took a deep breath before speaking again. “Apart from what just happened there, I won’t touch you again I swear.”

Jared laughed, mouth curved up in a smirk. “Not like I stopped you or anything Jensen.”

“Still. I shouldn’t have done it and I apologise.”

“Apology accepted.” He paused. “Jensen, I don’t even know what I’m doing ya know? The company’s going, Pops is gone and now everyone’s saying we should get hitched to save everything and everyone. What do I do?”

Jensen shrugged helplessly. “Do what you think is best. In the end Jared, you’ll have to live with it. Take some time to think it through; don’t let what just happened influence you. I meant what I said; I won’t do anything like that again.”

Jared got up, stuck his hand out for Jensen to shake. “Thanks. Again.”

Jensen sees Jared to the door. “Alona will be around tomorrow, say around 10 to give you the paperwork. Like I said, make any amendments you see fit. This is your life too.”

Jared nods again and quickly leaves.

Next day Jared spends the whole nest day glancing at the clock every two minutes; Jensen said around 10am and it’s now 10.10am. Sandy keeps frowning at him through the meeting with his Dad and some of the shareholders. They’re discussing something but Jared lost the train of discussion about 15 minutes ago.

And then the intercom in the meeting room buzzes.

“Mr Jared Padalecki, there is a Ms. Tal here to see you in your office.”

The noise in the room comes to a halt, all eyes on him and Jared tries calmly to stand up, nodding at the men around the table. “Gentlemen, I’m afraid I have to go, Ms. McCoy and my father will get me up to date with the proceedings later this afternoon.”

“Of course Mr Padalecki, may I enquire as to the nature of your meeting with Mr Ackles secretary?” Mr. Roche looks at Jared questioningly.

“Personal business Mr. Roche,” Jared smiles. “You know I would never do anything business-wise without consulting you.”

Roche stays silent; Jared quickly moves out the room and sees Sandy give a silent thumbs up under the table.

As he walks towards his office, he sees a young woman sitting outside on one of the sofas. She has her blonde hair pulled up into a chignon, dark gray suit with a black shirt and glasses perched on the end of her nose. He coughs politely to get her attention.

“Ms. Tal?”

She looks up and smiles, standing she thrusts her hand out for Jared to shake and he’s momentarily caught by the sight of her hand engulfed in his huge one.

“Mr Padalecki. Please call me Alona. Shall we?”

Jared unlocks his office and gestures for her to sit down. He grabs himself a soda and after requesting, grabs a bottle of water for Alona. He sits down, palms suddenly sweaty and wipes them on his thighs.

“Jared.” He looks up quickly and sees Alona smiling. “Jensen told me you might be nervous. You’re not signing away your life.” Jared snorts. “You’re not. Think of this like a peek into the future.”

“Right, so what we got?” Jared steels himself for the ideas that Jensen came up with and watched in anticipation as Alona flips open the folder and begin reading the stipulations.

“So you know that the marriage should last for a minimum of three years?” She waits for Jared to nod. “You and Jensen will need to share a residence for that time. A legal marriage certificate will need to presented to both companies before anything can be done. And can I add how lucky you both are with gay marriages recently being legalised in New York.” She smiles. “Jensen has arranged, or will arrange, for you to have a driver to and from your place of work, your father and sister will have similar arrangements and both will be assigned a bodyguard.

“What?”

“Jared; with Lehne on your back I can assure you that your sister and father will need one. Keep in mind what happened before.”

“Of course.” Jared could feel the bottom of his stomach giving out.

“As this marriage is on paper only Jensen has requested that in that time you remain monogamous as cheating in this marriage will nullify it and Lehne will take everything.”

“Does that work for Jensen too?”

“Yes, Jensen has agreed that for all intents and purposes you two are happily married and will remain faithful to one another. You can of course spend time with your family and friends as long as Jensen is aware where you are going, for how long and with whom, for any time away from Jensen you will be assigned a bodyguard.”

“Can you arrange for Jensen to do the same?”

Alona peered up from where she was scribbling. “Which part?”

“All of it. Even the bodyguard.”

“Jared, I’m sure that-“

“Please.”

Alona stared at him intently before shrugging and scribbling the amendment down on the paper. “Er, where was I? Oh yes. Megan’s tuition fees will be paid for by Jensen and no Jared, you may not argue with that. Jensen also asks that you, Megan and your father spend Sunday dinner every two weeks with him and Mackenzie.”

“Why?”

“It will allow your sisters to bond, I’m sure they will get along well and Mack might be able to offer Megan some help with the changes.”

“Okay.”

“The personal areas in this you can read yourself.” Jared was sure he could see Alona starting to blush. “I don’t think you’d be comfortable with me stipulating your love life Jared.”

Jared, who was half listening, choked on his soda. “No, no. I’ll go over that later. Thanks.”

“Right, now down to the company. Jensen has assured that you, your father and Megan will have majority holding in the company.”

“What do you mean majority?”

“You and your father will have one third each and Megan a sixth. Jensen will retain the rest for the three years you are together-“

“But-“

“For legal purposes Jared, he has stated that at the end of the three years he will sign his share over to you and you have power of veto over all business transactions. Jensen’s just there for back up, I promise you.” When Jared nodded she carried on. “Of course you will also retain a sixth of Ackane Ltd, what you do with it is up to you.”

“The same. I’ll hand it back. It's hardly fair if I don’t, is it?” He watched as Alona scribbled something else down. “Anything else?”

“The remainder is personal arrangements, like living arrangements, routines and such. I’ll leave you to go over them at your leisure.” She stood up, brushed her skirt and took her bag from the floor.

“Er, thanks I guess?”

“No problem. If you could peruse over it and have it back to me by Monday, that would be great. I’d prefer if you could arrange a courier to drop it off so that I can guarantee it’s safe arrival.”

“I’ll drop it off myself Monday morning.”

Alona opened the door and shook Jared’s hand. “Great. Well, good luck Jared and see you Monday. If you have any queries feel free to call up.” She turned to leave and stopped. “Jared?”

“Yeah?”

“Jensen isn’t all that bad you know?”

“Is he paying you?”

She laughed. “Yes, but he couldn’t pay me enough to say this. He’s a good guy, been through some rough times and doesn’t trust very easily. He comes across as a bit of a dick at times, but, he’s a good guy. Try and remember that. And remember; you can add and change anything you want on there. He’ll most probably say ‘yes’ if it’s within reason.” She waved once more and then walked off, leaving Jared with a lot to think about.
