I Can Be Obnoxious At Times, But Try To See My Heart
This is insane- it's the last day of 2011!! WTAF, WORLD?! Craziness, I'm telling you.
2011 wasn't a great year for anyone I know, though. A good friend of mine in Arizona died last Monday after a long battle following her stroke. Though, I guess her husband is the one having the crappy time now, since she's no longer aware of anything, which is something of a comfort.
My friend with the brain tumor is doing wonderfully; I was able to see her and her mom when I was out there. Still a little lag when it comes to a lot of conversations happening at once, or if people talk too fast to her, but everything else is pretty well back to normal, plus she has an awesome (well, I think it looks cool) scar from the brain surgery. Brain surgery, people. How do you top that? 'Oh, yeah, I had impacted wisdom teeth.' 'Well, I had brain surgery.' It's hard to top that. She was at a restaurant with her family and some idiots at the table behind them were complaining like whiny complainers, and after a while, she muttered to her plate, "Yeah? Well, I had brain surgery." Seriously, how is that not the best line ever? :)
Also, I started my period today and am cramping like it's 1999 or whatever, so I'm a little pissy, tbh. :\ Happy Frickin' New Year, right? *eyeroll*
I will say the one good thing about 2011 is my little Emily Brock being born. December 11th at 6:58pm (the docs rounded it to 7pm, for reasons unfathomable to me, IDEK). You guys. You guys. She is so smart. And gorgeous! And just... she's amazing. Here, look:
(A girl they know is a professional photographer and wanted to do a series type thing from maternity to 1 year old. This is one of the (many, many) shots Emily's mommy took while the girl (woman, she's got two boys of her own) got the professional shots with her awesome camera. I can't wait to see them all! This is Emily Brock Provost at three or four days old.)
