...
Love in Doorways
The sun comes too early tonight
The moon having barely time to ignite the sky
With the glow of the universe
And the stars were lit
Only to be put out for another night.
Under the bright sunrise
I dreamed of heaven
A respite so quiet,
A space to clear
So as to see plainly
The hours between dawns
Before the rays could destroy my dream
I saw something more
A man, I say
Peaceful as the night
He was Love, coming and going,
Beauty, inexactly, Happiness, precisely
To me he argued
“Lean not on Truth, for it is unforgiving,
Lean only on me.”
I replied with my broken heart,
My sorrow,
Leaning on nothing
And for this, I received only
Hope for the next dawn
This heaven
So filled with peace
And so empty
Is where I found Me
Which I had lost so long ago
And giving this up
Which I held onto for so many nights
Showed me only Love,
Of which I am made
