I found this compilation of some of Lovecraft's best stories that Carolyn let me borrow. I had read The Call of Cthulhu, and started The Shadow Over Innsmouth, but I hadn't picked it up for quite some time. However, I am currently almost done with The Dunwich Horror.

Un. Holy. Crap. This is such a freaking awesome story. And the worst part? I keep picturing this as a movie. I think this would make a kick-ass horror movie. The horror market is so flooded with slashers and torture porn right now, a cult/monster movie might be just what the movie doctor ordered.

I've been looking more and more into horror movies lately. Between planning WoD stuff and watching Dawn of the Dead and The Devil's Rejects, I'm becoming a big fan of the classically themed monster/horror movies. Not these "Oh no, a crazy guy with a knife!" or anything that mundane. As is everything else with me, it needs a good amount of the supernatural.

EDIT: Apparently, there was a Dunwich Horror movie back in 1970, but it seems to have bastardized the source material pretty badly. There's another one coming out this October, but it's only airing at the Rhode Island International Film Festival, and proclaims to be a "modern take" on the story. Is there something wrong with the source material that everyone feels the need to tweak the movie of it?

We did Exalted character creation Sunday. I am playing Kimbo Mo'Konda, an Honor-Bound Berserker (full-moon Gorilla-totem Lunar).

Oh, and I'm also playing Talfarin Moonblood, a Wild Elf Sorcerer, for Nick's D&D game. This game marks the first D&D game for Carolyn and Jess. Evil laughter ensues.

And Carolyn is planning her first GMed game! She's adapting my Villains, Inc. plot device, causing us all to play villains in a M&M game. You should join this game! I'm playing Chainlink and Jess is The Majorette!

Today, the search for a second job begins. Wish me luck.
