Who:
trueltning_fury and
spirit_arrowWhen: today
Where: the hallway
What: Captain has presents for his favorite people
Geddoe: *prowling the halls of the castle, possibly up to something or bored, one of the two...*
Aila: *is on her way back from the infirmary, looking forward to some cheesy fries at the cafe when she hears footsteps* Oh...heeeeey, Captain!
Geddoe: *swiveling to check his blind spot* ...Aila. How are things?
Aila: *makes a meh sort of motion with her hands* They could be better, I guess. Just weird having...[those] people around.
Geddoe: *slight scowl* There wasn't any trouble here while I was away, was there? Aside from the obvious.
Aila: No, but...it doesn't make sense. The evil[est] people from our war, and they show up here and try to pretend that they don't want trouble and that we're all supposed to forget that they tried to kill us all and ruin the world and somehow we're supposed to just get over that?
Geddoe: Hm. Well. They can't help that they were brought here. As to the rest...I don't know. I'm rather slow to forgive, myself.
Aila: I'm glad I'm not the only person that feels that way. I mean, at some point I should but it can't happen if they just [expect] me to.
Geddoe: A little remorse would be nice, hm? *shaking his head* I won't trust anyone with the power to knock me over and rip a rune off my hand until they earn it. But that's me. *have a pat on the head, Aila* Nobody else has to follow the old grouch's plan.
Aila: I'll follow the old grouch's plan as long as it's a plan that makes sense. *nods!* Besides, all that trying to make nice stuff just makes me think that they're up to something else. *pauses*...you haven't heard anything, had you?
Geddoe: No, nothing. Do you really think Luc would let me in on his plans if he had any? *slight smirk* All the same, I'm not letting my guard down.
Aila: Me neither. They have to slip up sometime. All that said...*changes the subject* How was your vacation?
Geddoe: Heh...it was good. The Islands are interesting. *beginning to smile* I made sure to fulfill your request.
Aila: Ahh, did you now? *grins*
Geddoe: Of course. I always keep my promises. *he's been keeping it in his pocket or pouch for this purpose - he brings out a whorled shell in sunset hues* From the shallows of the Pirate's atoll Sigurd showed me.
Aila: *would squeal happily but she's still down the hall from the infirmary but a tiny *squee!* escapes* This is sooooooo pretty! Thank you thank you! *continues looking at it*
Geddoe: They were selling different kinds in some of the ports that had scenes painted on them. I thought it was kind of a waste, we could pick up shells anywhere. *he wags one finger in the air* I personally made sure that one didn't have a crab inside it.
Aila: That's so...*is unsure about using this particular word but it does fit in this situation* [sweet] of you! *giggles* I'm glad you and Sigurd had fun down there. Did you do okay on the boat?
Geddoe: *a brief look of loathing* No.
Aila: *makes a face* Maybe next time you guys could just find a way to teleport?
Geddoe: I think I'll stick with not being on a ship if I don't have to. The ginger root made it bearable, but I can't really say it was a rollicking good time. *dryly*
Aila: Ugh. It's okay - me and boats don't really get along very well either. When we came home from the Nameless Lands, I was hung over the rail the first five days of the trip. I'm perfectly okay if I never set foot on a boat again.
Geddoe: Well, you are Earth-attuned. *shrug* It was a good trip otherwise. I learned a lot. Drank some good rum. *tugging his collar aside as if to peek down his shirt* Got some sun.
Aila: You do look a little tanned. It suits you. I'm glad you got to enjoy your time of doing nothing. *smile*
Geddoe: Tch, more like weathered. But...thanks. *vague smile* Now it's back to the same old thing. A little work, a lot of watching out.
Aila: Such is life, I guess. Anyway, let me get going - there's some cheesy fries at the cafe with my name on them. I'll keep my eyes and ears open for anything.
Geddoe: Try not to let it get to you, Aila. There really is no logic or reason behind people coming here...dead or not.
Aila: I'll try. That's probably the best I can do, though.
Geddoe: That's enough for me. *sobering briefly* Look out for Queen, too, would you? I don't seem to be very good at it.
Aila: I'll do my best. She's having a rough go of it, and...I can sorta understand how she feels.
Geddoe: I know. It chafes me that I tend to say or do the wrong thing around her...so make up for my failings, would you?
Aila: Allright. And don't worry about saying or doing the right things - some things come easier to people than others. As long as your heart is in the right place, sometimes the words don't always matter.
Geddoe: ...thanks, Aila. At least you always know the right thing to say. *smiling again*
Aila: No problem. Anyway, you take care! *smiles brightly and waves*
Geddoe: *raising a hand in a wave* Later.
