Jason, Pogo and I were in DC for 4rth of July celebration last night. The weather was terrible, the forecast was “scattered T-storms” but we braved it since I’ve never seen the fireworks display in DC. (And I’ve been here for years). He had his picnic bag ready with food, drinks etc within minutes., He's great.
We played poker for awhile under a tree by the Mall, but it started raining and the cops were evacuating the area because of lightning. We walked along with so many people under the rain, got completely drenched. Pogo was such a trooper. Love him, he walked next to me the whole time stopping to poop or pee every now and then, and people kept saying “oh puppy, how cute”. He even got his picture taken twice LOL My little celebrity.
Do most gay people own Boston Terriers? One time at Petco, this gay guy came over and petted Pogo then talked about his Boston Terrier. Then last night, 3 couples did the same thing.
(Pogo gets mistaken for a Boston Terrier a lot).
Anyways onetime, Jason asked me to wait by a building so he can go get the car under all that rain. But he forgot where he parked so he took forever, I stood there with Pogo with our bags and jackets. Two cops came over and asked me if they were mine. They told me not to walk away from the bags. Security was tight for fear of any terrorist attacks.
The rain stopped pouring, the sun came out and Jason was nowhere to be seen. I saw one of the cops came back and asked me who I was waiting for again. I explained to him AGAIN that I was waiting for my boyfriend, he walked away but stood nearby.
Well, that was a bit frustrating but it didn’t rain again throughout the entire time we were there. It was all worth it, the fireworks display was spectacular. Vibrant colors and lights all shooting up in the air. I haven’t seen it that close, I watched some in Georgetown and Alexandria a few years back but those did not compare.
