I saw some art last weekend, and felt like there was an unusually large amount of really good stuff to see. Perhaps it's true what they say, about art generally being better in harsh economic climates (or in this case art shows, as most of the actual art was made years or decades ago).

i really enjoy these posts. i don't have enough time to really engage right now, but i enjoy these posts. i am glad jenny holzer is up for a while so i am sure i can go see her. you do a much better job at getting to galleries than i do. i am satisfied if i just get to see what is in the museums.

hey thanks Ariel; i tend not to get a ton of feedback on this sort of post so I really appreciate it. the Holzer show is good - it's basically all recent, Bush-era work, which is not as great as her earlier work but still.

Hey I saw the tony oursler piece and the paul sharits installation at greene naftali. oursler is really good at what he does obviously, and i like the stuff with sound in it too....but the paul sharits piece is totally amazing i love how loud and lumbering it is in one way and then just pure light in another...
