“Hit me.”

The bartender, the name Eunhyuk pinned on his freshly ironed black shirt, raises a questioning eyebrow. It wasn’t on his job description to mind the customers business or care how much they drink, but he couldn’t ignore this beautiful male waste himself. “This is your 8th glass sir, you sure you can handle it?”

The man, cheeks rosy with bliss and eyes hazy with alcohol, looks up from staring at his empty glass and narrows his eyes at the bartender across from him. A lazy, intoxicated smile spreads across the tulip-like lips as the male tips his head back and rolls it to his side, showing off the sharp jawline and exquisite neck.

“I don’t think,” He starts, slurring his words together as a wobbly finger points at the concerned male, “that it’s any of your business…” The drunken male pauses, blinking rapidly and frowning, trying to form the proper words. “Now… hit me again, or I’ll make sure I won’t be seeing you here again.”

Sighing, Eunhyuk obliges and starts pouring another glass. I tried… He leaves the man, who was lost in his thoughts with his eyes half-lidded and mind clouded with the numbing substance. It’s a pity to see such a handsome and fine dressed man waste himself like that. Shaking his head in discontent, Eunhyuk ignores the strange feeling of wanting to assist the stranger. You’re becoming a softy Hyukjae, Jungsoo-hyung must be affecting you. He allows a grin as he begins to dry the cups, which were freshly out of the washer. Closing his eyes and enjoying how the ground vibrates with each pulse of the bass from the speakers, Eunhyuk anticipates the end of his shift.

--+--

The muted ringtone of The Little Mermaid on xylophone starts playing. Groaning slightly, the owner of the phone fumbles around in his jacket before realizing that the phone was in his pant pocket.

“Hello?” He slurs, wiping the liquid on the corner of his lips with the back of his hand. He knew he was drunk, but he was too intoxicated to really care.

“…Donghae?” Sungmin, who his brain manages to tell him was his co-worker and friend, whispers over the phone.

“That’s me.” Donghae mumbles. He cringes right away and starts rubbing his temples as he swings around on the stool, his back leaning against the bar. The loud music from the dance floor on the opposite side didn’t help.

“You’re drunk.” Sungmin states, not asking, but already knowing. He sighs.

“Am not… I just had a tiny shot of alcohol.” Donghae argues, can’t helping a hysterical giggle escaping his lips at the end. He waits, swinging around on the stool and fiddling with a small case in his pocket; the velvet casing soft and warm under his fingers. His chest starts to ache.

“It’s because of Heejin, isn’t it?” Came Sungmin’s next words, softly murmured that Donghae had to strain his ears to hear him.

“What?” Donghae mutters, albeit rudely. “Who’s Heejin?” He starts chuckling, although his heart beats at a funny pace, making him pause and cringe. “What a funny name…” He jumps down from the stool, although the burst of energy was unneeded. “I’m hanging up now,” He singsongs, giggling. “I want to dance… I feel so hot.” He whines, pursing his lips and slowly undoing a couple of buttons of his dress shirt, as he moves towards the dance floor. He ignores the thrumming of his temples when the speakers are a tad too loud for his toxic state.

“Wait! Hae, where are yo-“ Sungmin gets cut off with a flick of Donghae’s wrist.

Sliding the phone carelessly into his pocket, Donghae pushes his way through the large crowd of dancers. He let’s out a tired breath and closes his eyes, his head tilting back slightly. Letting the music take over his body, he sways at first; the concept of a nightclub being new to him, but then trusts him and the few years of dance he has had. Body rolls, hips grind, and eyes close in bliss as he dances his night away.

He opens his eyes at one point, and realization hits him, even through the alcohol, of how close he is dancing to other people. People were practically grinding against each other, no mattering that they were up against.

“You’re pretty good at dancing.”

Donghae looks to his side, his vision is a bit hazy, but he makes out a decent man, dressed in black and covered in a sheen of sweat. A sexy smile was painted across those delectable lips that Donghae couldn’t take his eyes off of, as the light eyes glow in the dim club.

“I am?” Donghae says, voice lazy and breath smelling bitter. He didn’t know whether he meant it as a question or a statement. He turns fully around to come chest to chest with this attractive male.

“Yeah, you are.” A flash of white teeth, a wide smile that left Donghae staring, and hungry. Suddenly, he feels the other male’s breath tickling his cheek, as well as a hand sliding around his waist. “Care to show me some moves?”

Whether it was the large amount of alcohol he drank previously, or the ache in his heart he was desperate to erase, Donghae wasn’t sure. But when he slowly returned that smile and started dancing against a complete stranger, he just knew that he was in a dire need to just escape.

---+---

Donghae hated hangovers.

“I hate hangovers,” He mutters, rolling onto his back and groaning through clenched teeth. He was lying down on his back, with his eyes screwed shut and hand rubbing his forehead. But even then, his world was tilting and rocking upside down. “Why did I drink so much last night?” He hisses. Even though it was a rhetorical question, his conscious mind supplied him of the answer; Heejin.

He lets out a long sigh, followed closely by another groan, when suddenly all thoughts of his current state and hangover is forgotten as he is kicked, very roughly might he add, in the back and onto the floor. Dumbfounded, Donghae stares at the hardwood floor beneath him with wide eyes.

“My room is carpeted…” He murmurs, head snapping up and scanning the walls.

“My room isn’t green…” He slowly gets up, ignoring the protest of his body and head.

“My bed isn’t a single…” He trails his eyes towards the bed he just fallen off of. And stares at the half-naked body sleeping oblivious to Donghae’s growing distress. The bare torso rising up and down in a steady pattern as the blankets cover the lower half.

Donghae muffles a scream in his throat as his hands shoot up to his body, he looks down and sighs in relief to see that he still had his pants on and shirt buttoned up, except for the top few. Gulping, he sees his jacket in the corner of the room, draped gently over a chair. He quickly grabs it and makes an escape route towards the door. But something makes him stop and go near the bed once again.

Something in the back of his mind remembers that this was the bartender that was reluctant of giving him another drink, as well as the dancer he felt attracted to last night. He couldn’t remember what happened exactly after that…

Small shadows paint across the cheekbones from the long lashes as the unruly burgundy hair delicately frames the sharp face. Donghae marvels how handsome this man just is, and doesn’t notice the t-shirt he stepped on. Just as he was about to lean over to pull the cover higher on the man, his foot slips.

If it weren’t for his long arms and fast reflexes, who knew what could’ve happened. He gulps nervously, his head pounding along with his heart, as his face is inches away from the other male. Staying like that for another five seconds, Donghae slowly starts to pull away when a hand suddenly grabs his wrist.

“You know how to cook?” Came the sleepy slightly croaky voice.

Either the mention of food, or the sudden contact of skin on skin, made Donghae’s body queasy. The next thing he knew, he was trying to keep last nights food and drink in. He tried.

---+---

“I’m so sorry.”

A light chuckle, “I told you it was okay. It happens to all of us, especially when we drink as much as you drank last night.”

Donghae continues to sit stiffly on the stool, just on the opposite side of the kitchen bar. “Let me pay you back, I feel terrible ab-“

He gets cut off by a hand and a shake of the head, “I’m telling you that it’s okay. So chill, okay?” The man rolls his eyes amusedly. “I’m Hyukjae by the way.”

“Donghae.” He replies, trying to keep the remaining bit of dignity he has. He fidgets slightly and sips his water, which helped calming his stomach greatly. The sound of eggs cracking and sizzling against the pan went straight to his upset appetite and dizzy mind. Focusing his attention elsewhere, he bite his bottom lip nervously as he begins to wonder…

“You want to say something?” Hyukjae asks, not looking at Donghae, but sensing his uneasy. He grins when Donghae let’s out a sigh and nods.

“D-did we…. You know, possibly… do anything last night?” Donghae inquires, voice laced with embarrassment and hesitancy. He flushes bright pink when Hyukjae laughs at him, but not before winking at him.

“Why, do you wish we did?” Hyukjae teases, shoulders shaking with laughter. Donghae notices how prominent the collarbones are and how nice a curve he has, both the shoulder and waistline.

“Then may I ask why I am here?”

Hyukjae raises an eyebrow as he brings a plate of eggs over. He sets that plate in front of himself and hands a glass of orange juice to Donghae. “You’re not going to digest food at this hour after drinking like that last night.” Hyukjae states, waving off the grateful thank you. He starts eating his breakfast, leaning against the counter on the opposite side of Donghae, much like last night; except without any liquor.

“Last night…” Donghae mumbles, running a hand through his wavy brown hair. He sighs and takes a sip of the juice, cringing as the citrus fruit burns down his dry throat.

“You got drunk, I tried to stop you. You started dancing, I met you. You passed out half-way, I brought you home with me.” Hyukjae shrugs, “I didn’t know where you lived, and it didn’t seem right to leave you in the night club to be picked up by dangerous men. At least I’m safe.” He winks, much to Donghae’s embarrassment and horror.

“I guess a thank you is appropriate.” Donghae mutters, he blushes lightly when he makes eye contact with Hyukjae. “You probably saved me from being kidnapped, who knows.”

The nighttime bartender leans over the counter and tilts his head to the side, showing the smooth expanse of the shoulders and neck to Donghae. “And how are you going to thank me?”

By saying thank you, what else? Donghae smiles nervously and clears his throat. “I guess I could treat you to soju at-“

“Come to the Fire again tonight, and be my date.” Hyukjae says suddenly, cutting him off. Flustered at the sudden remark, Donghae just opens and closes his mouth like a fish out of water before nodding slowly; uncertainly.

But when Hyukjae leans back and smiles at him, all joy and carefree will, Donghae feels warmth coursing through his body. He tentatively smiles back and promises to come by that night.

Later, as he is walking out of the small apartment and waving back at the enthusiastic Hyukjae, who was staring down from his balcony, he realizes that tonight, he was going on a date. With a man he just met and barely knew.

He wonders how all these events happened… and when he puts his hands in his jacket pocket, the soft velvet case he feels against his palm shocks him, and reminds him of his sorrow.

----+----

“How do you stand the music?” Donghae complains, frowning and hunching his shoulders. Hyukjae chuckles and passes him a glass - a glass of water. Donghae was going avoid alcohol for a while now.

That morning, well, he couldn’t exactly go to office dressed what he was wearing yesterday and smelling of alcohol. He takes the bus down back to the nightclub, where his car was still parked. As he arrives to his condo, he notices the time and swears. But that doesn’t make him rush, if he was late anyways, then what was the point trying to hurry everything now?

After taking a refreshing shower, scrubbing off the scent of clubbing and alcohol, he dresses himself and heads back out to work. Whether it was the orange juice or just him, the affects of the hangover wasn’t as bad as they should’ve been, much to his surprise.

He gets scolded by his senior, getting off lightly with a short warning, and gets cornered by Sungmin, who frowned at him and told him to never do that again. (He left 5 messages and 10 voice messages, half of them being threats to burn down his condo and sell his fish if he didn’t call back.)

After eight hours of working at a desk, with only one short coffee break, Donghae excitedly yet nervously, rushes out of the office as soon as the clock hits seven. Wanting to dress into something more casual for the club, he goes home first, throwing on a pair of black jeans with boots and a leather jacket. He hesitates, but pockets the velvet case before heading down to his car.

“Working here every night, it would be amazing if I didn’t get used to it all.” Hyukjae chuckles, untying the small apron around his waist. “Well,” He looks to Donghae and smirks. “My shift is done for tonight. Meet me on the floor?”

Nodding, with his heart thrumming with anticipation, Donghae squeezes his way into the crowded dance floor. Fire, was one of the more popular nightclubs in the city, with its great interior design and awesome music and DJ’s every night, Donghae starts to understand why some people decide to come here often.

He thinks that Hyukjae, or Eunhyuk as the club people know him as, can find him on his own, and starts to dance. But without the influence of alcohol, Donghae becomes self-aware of the people around him and what he was doing. He wanted to feel the same relaxation he felt last night when he was dancing; careless and free, but it wasn’t working out so well right now.

Just as he is about to give up and move away from the sweaty mass of people, a hand grabs his forearm and spins him around. “Why, not enjoying yourself?”

Donghae tries to not blush at the close proximity, and stares defiantly into those light brown orbs. “Was just waiting for you to join the party.” He states, surprising even himself with the bravado and smirk in his voice.

His heart skips a beat when Hyukjae leans closer and snakes a hand under his thin white tee, caressing the skin just above the pants. “Then let’s get the party started.” And to Donghae’s surprise, Hyukjae doesn’t pull away, instead drawing them closer.

Donghae manages a sharp gasp when Hyukjae starts to move those hips, so dangerously close to his own. His body becomes like a statue, unsure of what to do, yet not wanting the other to stop moving.

“You were so good at this last night, what happened? Don’t tell me all those moves you showed me last night was because you were drunk.” Hyukjae whispers hotly beside his ear, his hips still moving in a circular motion against Donghae’s.

Feeling offended and shot-down, Donghae clenches his jaw and sternly looks up. If anything, he hated being insulted. “I’ll show you how good I am.” He growls, an arm snaking up and around Hyukjae’s neck as the jacket on the other shoulder slides down his arm, revealing some skin. He begins to sway his hips and rolls his body in time with the music, all against Hyukjae and making sure the other male feels his body against his. Soon, two songs pass by.

“You’re good. But can you do better?” Hyukjae questions, eyes challenging and amused. His hands ghost over Donghae’s stomach, lightly tapping the belt. Donghae grins, feeling very light and burden free.

“You show me some of your moves. And I’ll show you more of mine.” Donghae bargains, his chest rising with each breath as sweat breaks out on his forehead. He tries to ignore the fact that his pants were very tight and that he was in a dire need of a release sometime soon. But the fire in him, of the silently agreed challenge between them, made him forget everything else.

----+----

Soon, this becomes a nightly ritual. Donghae finishing his work and waiting patiently for Hyukjae to finish his shift so that they can go and dance.

Three weeks pass…

And then a month…

Soon two seasons…

And, like a flash, a year passes by…

----+----

“You know, you’d think by now I would know what your occupation is.” Hyukjae says, munching on an apple. He sits up to look at Donghae, who was seated on the loveseat across from him. “But, I don’t know! What do you do? I just know you have an office job.”

Donghae chuckles and takes an apple from the tea table between them. “It’s pretty boring. I’m in charge of international affairs for the company, you know, setting up the meetings, making sure the data and necessary things are prepared ahead of time. Double checking to make sure their coffee.”

Hyukjae raises an amused eyebrow. “Coffee? Really?”

Donghae nods, eyes wide and completely serious. “You don’t know how important coffee is to business men! They can’t survive without it!”

“Is that why your so hyper and childish everyday?” Hyukjae comments, laughing when a pillow is thrown at him. “But, what always made me curious was, why would a successful business man like you be doing at a rundown nightclub?”

Donghae’s eyes take on a dark look as he stares at his lap, his fingers fiddling with each other. He’s known Hyukjae for a while, and they were close friends, or even more, he wasn’t sure. But he felt that it was the right thing for the other to know. He looks up to meet Hyukjae’s curious, yet worried gaze.

“You know the first time you met me?” Donghae starts, to which Hyukjae snorts and rolls his eyes. Donghae continues. “Well, before all that, me getting beyond drunk and not myself. I planned to meet my girlfriend.” He notes how Hyukjae’s falters slightly.

“She and I were going out since high school and through University. For 2 years though, she went over seas to pursue a different type of education, but she returned and we started where we left off in our relationship.” Donghae’s eyes cloud over in thought as he loose himself in his memories. “A year and a half after she came back, I decided it was time to settle down.” He looks up to meet Hyukjae’s eyes with a cool gaze.

“I planned everything, a romantic date just like the movies, a warm dinner, and the perfect way to propose to her.” His eyes tear over with sadness. “I got off of work early, asking my boss for permission. But… right when I was going to pick her up, at our apartment, I saw her. Right by the elevators, in the arms of another man; a blond…someone who she met over seas I guessed.”

Donghae smiles, although it doesn’t reach his eyes. “She was my first love, and the one who I thought was the only person for me, and vice-versa. But I guess I was wrong.” He sniffs and lets out a sigh. “Come on, you said you’ll help with the dishes.” Donghae quickly walks by the silent male and towards his kitchen. He wanted nothing but a distraction from everything, but before he can even turn the tap, strong lean arms wrap securely around his waist.

“What am I, dead meat?” Hyukjae whispers, a hand gently caressing Donghae’s stomach; one of his many sensitive spots that only Hyukjae knows.

Donghae’s heart skips a beat, like how it usual did when Hyukjae touched him. But everything freezes when he feels warm lips capturing his in a slow but passionate kiss. They did everything intimate up to groping each other, but nothing like this; nothing that showed each other their feelings. Donghae loses himself in the kiss, turning fully around and pressing closer for more.

How long have I been waiting for this? Donghae thinks, wrapping his arms around Hyukjae to pull him closer. …Ever since I met him.

Breathless giggles fill Donghae’s room as they fall on the bed, Hyukjae straddling the male under him before discarding his loose shirt and helping Donghae do the same.

“Forget about that girl, it’s obvious she wasn’t meant for you.” Hyukjae mumbles between each kiss he trails down Donghae’s naked torso, starting from the neck to the stomach. “If she knew better, she would’ve had you in a vice-like grip and never let you go.”

Donghae moans when he feels a hand gently massaging his bulge. His eyes flutter open and closed as he tries to keep eye contact on Hyukjae while trying to not let the wonderful touches let him fall deeply into bliss. He cries out when Hyukjae suddenly moves his knee in circular movements between his legs. Donghae’s cry dies down to a long, wanton moan.

“You’ve had a special spot in my heart ever since you barfed your late night meal all over my pillow.” Hyukjae says, chuckling breathlessly as he moves up to swirl the erect nubs with his tongue. He grins when he feels Donghae’s laughter vibrate through his body. He pulls back to stare into those large, captivating eyes.

“I love you.” He whispers, sealing Donghae’s lips with his.

In a frenzy of kisses, touches and groans, they both find themselves quickly naked and into position.

“Why do you get to top?” Donghae complains, moaning all the while as Hyukjae starts to finger him.

“Because I’m the dominant one.” Hyukjae hisses as he nibbles on Donghae’s ear. “So be quiet and be submissive.”

Donghae scowls, which soon turns into an expression of ecstasy when Hyukjae finds that one spot in him with his finger. “Enough talking.” Donghae whispers, looking at Hyukjae with such fiery and lust-filled eyes it sent a shiver through his body and to his wakening erection. “Hurry and get in me. Now.”

And that’s all the encouragement he needed.

Pulling Donghae up and kissing him breathlessly, he slowly presses into him, Donghae’s skin slick and wet as small whimpers pour from his throat while Hyukjae breaks away from the kiss to lick a trail along the sharp jawline. Donghae’s body trembles at the sensation, he felt like he was being ripped in two, but it felt so good. He gasps when Hyukjae wraps an arm around him and hauls him up, pulling him flush against his chest, and Donghae does everything but to scream out in pleasure and pain at the feel of being pushed down onto Hyukjae’s cock, pushing so deep into him.

He moans and rocks his hips, pivoting his hips to get more friction. Hyukjae gets the idea and slowly pulls out to swiftly plunge back in. With each thrust and movement, they both reach the edge of the cliff; one more push and down the go.

“Faster.” Donghae begs, burying his face in Hyukjae’s shoulder and licking the warm skin. Hyukjae obliges does that, which raises Donghae’s cries and moans of want and bliss.

Quickly, too quickly for Donghae’s liking, he comes with a final snap of Hyukjae’s sinful hips, the other males name pouring from his lips as his back arches and he comes shamelessly. He groans and leans against Hyukjae’s dancer body as the other male continues pounding into him, riding out is orgasm. Soon, both males fall back onto the bed, bodies covered in sweat and eyes gleaming with warmth and love.

“I love you.” Donghae whispers, brushing Hyukjae’s hair from his eyes. They both hiss when Hyukjae pulls out and rolls over onto the other side of Donghae. He curls around his lovers body to only have Donghae suddenly get up and grab something from the bedside table.

“What are you doing?” Hyukjae comments, not missing the fine ass that Donghae has, especially when he bends over. “Come here.” He calls, when Donghae walks back over with something in his hand.

“This…” Donghae murmurs, fiddling with the violet velvet case, “is something I bought a long time ago, to give to my true love.” He looks up and stares into Hyukjae’s warm brown eyes. “I was going to give it to Heejin… But I know she isn’t the one I truly loved.” Donghae opens the case and hands the small bracelet, a simple gold chain with a heart like diamond on a key, to Hyukjae, who takes it as well as wrapping an arm around Donghae’s waist.

He puts it on and marvels how perfectly it fits his wrist. “Thank you Donghae.” He murmurs, turning to the male. He pushes him down and rolls on top of him, a predatory smirk gracing his lips as he leans down to capture Donghae’s lips for a slow, burning kiss. He pulls back slightly and licks Donghae’s nose.

“Care for another round?” Hyukjae says, winking as a sneaky hand trails down the bare body to waken a certain organ.

A wanton moan answers his question.
