[Having been warned by everyone else's responses, Neville decides not to open his present right away. From the sounds of it, this santa is some kind of sick bugger. There's a letter on top of his presents though, so he tentatively picks it up to read it. No one's warned him about letters yet

[If there's one way to make sure your friends came, Neville, even without meaning to, it's saying there's a dangerous plant attacking. Hermione had heard that and made her way to Stone Street as quickly as possible. Arriving in front of the house made her take a sharp intake of breath at his window and then the boy. Her brows furrowed and she wished desperately she had her magic.]

Neville. [She's watching that window, thinking of years of Herbology and counting the fact that if Neville couldn't think of something...]

Hermione!

Stay away from the plant, I think it eats flesh- [he'll try to get her inside the house with his good arm]

Flesh? [She managed it although something certainly caught in her throat, but more importantly... Neville's arm.] What exactly happened, Neville?

[From the looks she's already figured out he opened his presents. :|]

[he nods. Flesh.]

I read the letter, the one with the presents, and as soon as I was done this [he motions his arm, then winces] happens and that plant started tearing it's way out of the box.

[That earns a grimace.] Oh, Neville.

[She's eying the window now.] The plant should probably be dealt with first. There's not much that can be done about the wand. It would have to be removed, of course, but it would be extremely painful and difficult to do. I don't think we even have the materials to do it without causing an infection. [She's not even sure about the local hospital :|]
