So I've finally got that Christmas gift write-up completed! But first, a lovely photo of my parents' house's front yard on Christmas morning. We were lucky enough to get a nice fluffy snowfall for it.
Okay, now for the good stuff. Goof that I am, I took a photo of all my collected presents after the opening was done. So here it is:
- A carry-on suitcase, so I can finally give Indigo hers back. It's a tiny bit smaller than Indigo's, but I should still be able to fit everything I need to into it.
- A nice blue Slanket! (It was the Slanket after all, rather than the Snuggie.) This'll be really nice for when I'm cold at the computer.
- A wall calendar with pictures of castles. It's nice! I wouldn't have thought to get one like this for myself.
- DVDs! Five seasons of Pee-Wee's Playhouse and four MST3K-ed movies.
- The aforementioned 16 GB iPod Nano. I've been using it since I got back to my apartment and could load my music onto it. It's great! I thought the Cover Flow feature was silly at first, but it grew on me, and before I knew it I was wandering around online grabbing CD covers for all my MP3s. Well, not all of them yet. But I'm working on it.
- The new World of Warcraft expansion, again, as mentioned in my last Christmas post. I've been playing it quite a lot since I got home. I have a Death Knight leveled up to 59 or so, and I did a bit of messing around today with the 70 hunter Kipp gave me.
- A couple of bath towels! Bit of an odd gift, but the towel I'd been using was getting pretty old, so it's just as well.
- Two T-shirts from ThinkGeek! Steampunk skeleton and Inigo Montoya.
- A jumbo-sized bottle of multivitamins. 300 tablets. Yeah, that's right, this'll last me most of the way to next Christmas. Another gift of practicality, which I don't mind at all. Anything that's going to theoretically reduce the amount of time I spend sick is A-OK by me.
- Books! ursulav's sketch book, Terry Pratchett's latest novel, Nation, and a comic book adaptation of the first two Discworld novels. I haven't read the latter two yet, but I will soon.
- An electric toothbrush! Mom got one of these for both me and Kipp after she started using one and liking how it made her teeth feel. And she's right, it gives you a really clean feeling after all. This will hopefully help me get into the habit of brushing daily, rather than erratically.
- A down vest to go with my down coat from a year (or was it two?) ago.
Not pictured:
- $560 in cash!
- From my grandmother, a check for $125! Both of these went straight into my savings account, which put it at just over $2,000.
- From my mom's friends the O'Briens, a $30 Amazon card! I bought a nice case for my iPod with it.
- From my aunt and uncle, a $15 iTunes card! I believe I used it for the Dr. Horrible soundtrack and half of an MC Frontalot album.
- And finally from my grandparents, a huge hand-made side table for the living room! My video games go in the slots on the top, and controllers go in the drawers below. Grandpa made it from a little sketch I gave him a few weeks back. Pretty impressive, huh?
Whew! And that doesn't even include whatever Indigo's going to give me when we next get together. Mom and Dad were apologetic because this Christmas wasn't as big as
previous ones, but I'm more than happy.
