The last couple of days have seen some major events around the world.
I don't care for Gillard, and Rudd isn't the best either, but both are better than that bassackwards liberal leader, Tony Abbott. Abbott fans need not reply. In fact, neither do Gillrudd fans either.
A women stood for 12+ hours for something she believed in, believed in enough to put her career, her friendships and her very being on the line. She stood up to a room of male misogynistic politicians and said NO, enough is enough! I applaud her. I don't need idiots blocking my timeline with replies about God this or god that. I don't give a crap about your so called god or your so called religious beliefs. You know what, the bible is FULL of irrelevant scriptures that people seem to conveniently ignore. This woman, in those 12+ hours showed more faith and more belief in a higher cause than most churches have in their ENTIRE congregation!
Same Sex marriage took another step towards equality - a move that once again, has angered the religious people of this world. Equality... it means equal rights for ALL people, not just those who we may or may not agree with.
Lastly, in a bed on the other side of the world lies a very ill Nelsen Mandela, a man who is truly one of the most (if not THE most) influential, moving and motivating humans of the last 100 years. What Mandela survived and overcome should be an inspiration to ALL people, especially the downtrodden, discriminated against or minority groups. My thoughts are with him and his family.
