Scans of Rolling Stone article "The Joy Of Vampire Sex"... and...

Aug 18, 2010 12:04

Scans of the whole article in Rolling Stone are now online, the issue hits newsstands this week. A short quote:

In conversation, it becomes clear that Moyer enjoys the sexual peculiarities of the show. He loves that vampires are a method of sexual liberation for Sookie. "It's about taking things to the point where normal frames of society wouldn't think that was an OK thing for a young Southern girl to do," he says. "It's interesting to think about sex as the search for a moment together which is a glorious combination of orgasm and the sexual oneness that might lead to death. Have you ever read William Burroughs' CITIES OF THE RED NIGHT? People fuck while attached to nooses on elastic, and when ejaculation happens the floor falls away." He smiles a little. "But Bill would be able to bring her back, wouldn't he? HMMM."
Every time Stephen does another feature interview for this show, I love him a little bit more. He's just this endless font of great, great quotes. Ball is the king of articulating the basis for what makes this show so smart, so detailed, so intense... but Moyer has this way of making everything funny, sexy, and joyous. He is obviously loving the hell out of it, while also intellectually getting the point.

What a great fandom to be in, eh girls? (And just so you all know, I actually like the Twilight stuff too. But, as an adult myself, with an active sex life and no respect for abstinence education, there is just no way that Twilight can compete for my affections. True Blood is just so much bigger, more grown up, more magical, wilder, sexier, messier, smarter, EVERYTHING-ier, in the end. For me.)

MEANWHILE: CampBlood issued a challenge, which was immediately answered... to adjust the cover art a bit for you slashers in the hizzy!
