OF COURSE. I should have known Ball would find yet another way to worship Bill.

GO TO PERU, BILL. AND TAKE YOUR BOYFRIEND ALAN BALL WITH YOU.

And I'm SO pissed about this whole Eric "owning" Sookie thing. I called him buying her house, but I thought it was because he wanted to give it to her, so she'd have a place to come home to, without having to worry about bills or upkeep. That's how book Eric would have done it. But NO, with fucking Ball at the wheel, Eric bought Sookie's house out from under her so he could force himself on her without her being able to throw him out.

I HOPE YOU ROT IN HELL, BALL.

Don't even get me started on him fucking up the fairies. How can Charlaine Harris be OK with this??

And how exactly was Sookie's granddaddy part Fae when Adele's infidelity is what led to Sookie, Jason, and Sookie's dad being part Fae? DID YOU FUCKING READ THE BOOKS AT ALL, BALL, OR DID YOU SKIM THE CLIFFNOTES???

I didn't think it was possible for me to hate anyone as much as I hate Ron Moore, but Ball is nipping at his heels.

You know, Eric buying Sookie's house was a very book!Eric thing to do, imo. The problem is the way they told Alex to play that, I think, because the Eric we know from the books isn't nearly that possessive. He is, however, that high handed. So the fact that he bought Sookie's house with the knowledge she wouldn't be able to rescind his invitation is actually a pretty brilliant move on his part.

And honestly, even as fucked up as this show gets sometimes, I really don't think we need to worry about Eric forcing himself on Sookie. It's not in his character and quite frankly, if he really wanted to do that, he would have done it already. He had her all to himself how many times last season and that didn't happen? Not to mention, when he kissed her at the end of S3, he let her push him away when she'd had enough. So unless this Eric suddenly escaped his reservation on the funny farm, I think it'll be okay.

But still...shitty direction from whoever was calling the shots behind the camera *glares at ABalls*

Reading this today made me feel a lot better, so thanks for talking me down! And I just got done watching episode two and I'm a lot more calm now. You're right, it's very book Eric for him to buy her house. I just didn't like the way they were setting it up last night... like he was saying "Hey, I bought your house, now you have to have sex with me and give me your blood and do whatever I say, or you'll be homeless!"

I'm still pissed that they set it up to look like that, apparently, just to make the scene cliffhanger-worthy. LAME! But Eric came off much more book!Eric in the second episode and I was very pleased. I won't say anything else in case you haven't watched it yet.

Yeah it was a mistake to amp up the possessiveness for cliffhanger's sake. He could have said the exact same thing without sounding like a scary mofo and still got his point across. But this is the Beeehl Show, so it's not surprising.
