From the "Monty's Boo Boo" Dept.

May 18, 2008 14:37

I picked up Monty yesterday from the Vet's office. He looked happy to see me but was obviously still a bit "out of it" in the "What happened Daddy? There's an owie on my back leg Daddy!" sort of way.

Monty's doing just fine - he's convalescing (as I like to say) here at home.
The Vet didn't apply a cast to his leg nor did they say he would require "The Cone Of Shame" (but I bought one anyway). They sent me home with some Metacam (anti-inflammatory) and they explained what would happen with his leg as it heals. I noted today that it was "leaking" a bit but this was not "blood" per se but that sort of mixture of blood and clear discharge that happens as wounds heal. The vet tech that saw me yesterday told me that this would happen and not to get worried about it. I just gently took a kleenex to the area and patted it and the weeping subsided.

The reason for no cast has to do with having Monty have a "full range of motion" in his right leg (eventually).

He's right into snoozing the day away (which is good) and I've noted he's got quite an appetite (scarfed down all his food yesterday and this morning). I have to take him back into the vet in 2 weeks time for a post-op review.

Here's how he's been today..

Check out the stink eye !! ;)

And then he passed out to snooze

Here's the leg... ouch.. poor little guy..

Thanks again,
