I'm quite glad that fortune has not betrayed me and I can at last return to all of you in one piece.  The wilds are hardly anything like the woods, but nature, no doubt, reminds us all of a simpler time

That most certainly is not an aspect I relish. But I thoroughly enjoy the fact that there are others, from other times, whom I can share my company with.
