I actually have a lot of random, weird phobias. The biggest would be the 3 S's: spiders, snakes, and sharks. Now, obviously, sharks don't have a big impact on my life, because I don't live by the ocean, and even if I did, I would be avoiding anywhere near where a shark would be. But spiders and snakes do occasionally cross my path, mostly spiders. Snakes I tend to just run away from, screaming. Spiders also cause me to scream, but I've gotten to the point where I can kill the little ones without freaking out too much.
The weird phobias begin with ceiling fans. I actually really like ceiling fans: mine is running right now. But ever since elementary school where we had these crazy old fans that looked like they were going to fly off, I've been pretty afraid of them. It didn't help that when I asked my dad if ceiling fans could fly off the ceiling and decapitate you, he said yes. He was obviously joking, but I've been paranoid ever since.
The next weird one is elevators and escalators. I used to hate elevators with a passion and have to be forced to ride them. Now I'm usually only scared if they are old or really fast and high up. Escalators worry me because my brother said you could get sucked under and shredded up at the top if you didn't get off fast enough. He's a real treat. He actually started my fear of sharks, too. He told me they came out of the grate at the bottom of swimming pools, so I used to be a little scared of swimming pools.
I'm also a little scared of parking garages. The ceiling always looks like it's going to crush you. I generally have to close my eyes when I'm inside one.
And last, but not least, I am terrified of falling into those grates on sidewalks. I guess it's the fact that I never knew what was down there, so I always imagined something horrible. I can't even walk over them, I have to completely go around.
