ok, not really, but for some reason that title was in my head.
i talked to my friend urs the other day. she's getting married next weekend in south florida. she asked me to be a bridesmaid!! i'm super excited about that. i was going to the wedding anyway, but now i have a reason to get there earlier. so, that's cool. found a really cute dress too, only $99. all i'll need is shoes. also found this cute 3-piece suit type thing at Ross for $40. so if I get the dress and the suit (for the rehersal and dinner), and shoes to match both, i'll pretty much be set. and broke. but it's all good. mom and dad said they'd loan me some money to go down there with if i need it. karen and i are driving down together...she's a bridesmaid too.
WTCP (white trash christmas party) update...we are also having those white-light spiral trees that people put in their front yard. we have about 12 of them we're scattering around the area. i really hope that this turns out great. i'd love to be 100% wrong about all this. it just seems so...ugh...no nice words to put here. oh, did i mention the poinsettas? yeah, we have those too. about 100 of the suckers. what the heck are we going to do with 100 poinsettas?!?!?! well, 70....30 are going home with people after the party as door prizes. speaking of door prizes...i'm kind-of in charge of wrapping the little buggers (well, me and another lady). most of them are things that were bought after Christmas last year (clearance). with the 30 poinsettas....we've got about 100 or so of them. about 15 are these stupid looking, cone-shaped (or angels) 1-1.5 foot tall...things. two of them light up...the others are just a little tacky looking. but, that's my personal opinion...i don't think i'd use them as decor in my house...but to each his own. there are some really cute ornaments as prizes tho. and since i'm the one who bagged the buggers, i know which one to pick if i'm a lucky winner.
in other news...richard leaves on Friday. i'm going to miss him. i'm picking him up for church tonight. tomorrow night ganelle is having a going-away thing for him....we'll probably end up eating out. at least he'll only be in Texas. that's not too far...and since he's a reservist...he'll have plenty of time to visit when he wants. so, that's nice.
ok...lunch is over and i must return to pushing work out. the more i get done, the more time i'll have to devote tomorrow and friday to the WTCP set up. as much as i'd love to not have anything to do with that...it will get me away from my desk...so bring it on.
hugs to all!!
