BSG Pic: Gaeta & Dee
Characters: Gaeta, Dee

Material: One pencil. Three drafts. Four mystified flatmates.

Author's note: For the 'Good Things' challenge on gaeta_squee. Kinda. I mean, I don't really know what's going on in the picture. Something must've happened, though. I mean, look! Gaeta, happy! Okay, Dee looks annoyed, but Gaeta doesn't seem to care, so that's okay.

Something good must have gone down, definitely. There are no circles under Gaeta's eyes. He's not leaning on a crutch much, too, judging by the set of his shoulders. They've probably found the secret human colony on the moon, who've regrown his leg. Or maybe Dee and Felix invented a hair product for super shiny curly hair, that made them famous all over the fleet and gained them the support necessary to take over Galactica. Or Starbuck, Lee and Col. Tigh ran away to have a wild threesome relationship, so there's need for a new XO and a new CAG, and it's the celebration of Gaeta and Dee's respective promotions. The reason they look so conspiratorial is because Gaeta, new acting CAG, is planning to inflict actual order in the pilot's ranks. As a matter of revenge. In other words, there are good things all over the place.
This is the first time I've tried anything like this. I can draw okay looking portraits, if you give me a picture or hold very still for a couple hours. I never tried free-style before, though, but I wanted to make a picture with Gaeta having company and being happy. I think it worked out well, although there's definitely much room for improvement.
