Ficlet, Gaeta/Baltar, S1, teen

This is for the prompt Gaeta/Baltar, law of attraction, by tin-o-biscuits. 370 words, Baltar, Gaeta & Head!Six, S1 or S2, teen. Last time, tin requested fluff but the ficlet turned out creepy. This time, it's actually fluff. No beta. Have fun. :)

Hee! Worst pickup line ever! This was really fun. :)

You totally get Gaius, especially Season 1, when he's all harried by Six, trying to juggle his conversations with her and the real world without looking insane, but still more or less intact. I like how you write him arrogant and annoyed by almost everything around him, desperately wanting sex. The moment where he noticed that everyone on Galactica smells exactly the same, except Felix smells more that way was really great.

He had not used it because the lieutenant had been so overwhelmingly close during the last hour that he’d had to say something, anything, to make it happen now.

This line was great in how it created a lot of tension just before the kiss.

Great ficlet! It reminds me of the question: Why didn't we even once get to see Gaius and Felix in the lab working on that Cylon detector?

Aww thanks! I like early Baltar best. He was so much more fun when he was still an atheist and a scientist. Although he was a very bored scientist who never got his work done.

Why didn't we even once get to see Gaius and Felix in the lab working on that Cylon detector?

Why, because the network didn't okay the high rating that would necessarily have been required, of course! :D

Heh, yes Gaius was a very bored scientist, wasn't he? That's why I always seem to write him having sexy times in his lab. :)

I too was so annoyed for much of Season 4 with the fact that Gaius believed in God all of a sudden. I found it really implausible for the character. I could believe that he was lying to those women for his own benefit, but actually believe in God? It seemed so unlike him. The only thing that made me finally somewhat okay with his conversion was "The Hub," when Roslin almost killed him and he gave her that speech about "...nobody blames the flood".

You're getting so good at Baltar, maybe you'll have to write him in our fic. :) Btw, I'm *this* close to finishing another scene. You should get it tomorrow, if not late tonight after you've gone to bed.

Hee! Yes, that is truly a terrible pick-up line. Oh lord. I love how Gaius doesn't care when Six talks while he's with Laura, but wants her to shut up around Felix. :) Makes me happy.

Also: For some reason, the idea of Felix smelling like clean is really hot.

(I will be e-mailing you in a few hours if it kills me)

Thank you! I'm starting to like writing Baltar a lot.

Good scientists know how to prioritize! :D

Does that mean I have to call an ambulance? ;)

He's fun, isn't he?

God, I suck. I was working on the timeline, and my sister demanded her computer back, and then I had work. But I'm working on it right now. it's harder than I was expecting, because there are things I'm still confused about. I should get it sent out tonight. (How many times can I say that before it comes true?)

If that's easier, you could just send it over half-done, and maybe we're lucky and I'm not confused about the things that confuse you. No pressure. :)

Aww! This was sweet! I like that Gaius isn't listening to Six at the end. If he's going to seduce Felix, then I'm glad he's giving it his full attention. :-)

And the other drabble wasn't creepy! It was sexy! At least I thought so. But I have a thing about walls in fic so maybe that's me.

Ah, Felix. I hope he enjoyed it while it lasted.

Hee. Walls are such an interesting kink. :) I'll have to try and include more walls in my fic.

Thank you very much! I'm sure Felix enjoyed it a lot. I'm pretty certain he stayed that close to Baltar on purpose, to edge him on. Felix is all with the quiet seduction.

Sooo cute, so lame. Oh Gaius. He would be all aware it was a bad line and say it anyway.

You know, its subtle, but I'm really fond of the idea that Gaius knows he can have Felix whenever he wants, before they actually hook up. There's something about that premeditation and self-assurance that just says Gaius to me.

I think Baltar knew he could have Felix from the moment Six pointed Felix out to him. He started noticing the signs right at that point.

I'm glad you liked it. Thanks!

Very nice! I like how both of them must be a little surprised that their seductions worked: Baltar that there would ever be someone so smitten with him that such a lame line would work, and Felix that Baltar *finally* noticed the signals he was sending with his body language (or at least that's how I took Felix's voice dying in mid-sentence--it's a nice way of showing that he's not unexpectedly shocked, but more "oh my gods *he finally got it*?").

You've also, perhaps inadvertently, explained how Felix could've overlooked the fact that Baltar is constantly talking to himself and saying things that don't really fit the conversation. If he thinks they were lame flirtations/pick-up lines, I don't think he'd be bothered by the fact that Baltar sounds a little loopy most of the time.

Hee, yes, I was definitely thinking that Felix has been doing his part in seducing Baltar in this scene. I've always assumed that Felix' modus operandi would be to place himself close to a guy, sending non-verbal signals, until the other guy gets it. He's too shy to be confrontational about it thinking of how easy he can be about sexual things (the porn!), I don't think he wouldn't make his intentions known. I'm pleased you got that from reading the fic. Thanks for the great comment! :)
