Halloween, plotbunnies, writing

Happy Halloween for everyone who's celebrating! (I'm not. I've fled, visiting my parents, retreating to a place where I'm not responsible for opening the door. I refuse to do a holiday we didn't even have when I was a child.)

I wrote my first master exam last week, which seems to have thrown me into a writing frenzy. Chapter 2 for "Back to Earth" will be up soon and chapter 3 is looking good, too. I just hope I'll get it all done before I have to start studying for my next exam. Naturally, I'm thinking about what to write after that already. The Comment Fic Challenge over at bsg_slashathon has made me think about Hot Dog and I'm feeling the urge to write a very schmoopy Gaeta/Hot Dog love story, an old-fashioned one, one that ends with a first kiss. It amuses me a great deal that I've written about every of the three nuggets already. I'd also like to write Gaeta/Dee at some point but my mind is blank on that account. Or a background fic for Gaeta (totally a member of the Picon nobility!) or Dee. Or Helo. Maybe I could make it a series. Then again, I probably won't have that much time. Damn.

In other news, there are plotbunnies that just shouldn't be written. I occasionally start writing, deciding that it isn't a good idea after a couple of paragraphs because it doesn't work out or because sometimes, I realize it's just a tad too strange.

When fifteen viper pilots and thirteen CIC officers showed up in sickbay, none of them sick, Cottle worried. When they assembled around Felix Gaeta’s bed, carefully forming two lines, shooting daggers at each other, Cottle knew something was wrong. Then however, they all started singing and after that it was just weird.

Especially when Brendan Costanza got started with the dramatic soprano.

Dualla broke into giggles.

Whoever makes a story out of this deserves an award. Or maybe should be institutionalized. I'm not quite sure which of them it should be.
